Dehli Chaat

I feel like I have suddenly discovered taste and smell. Every time I enter this restaurant, the lovely smell of spices envelopes me like a savory cloud. I have only ever gone in the afternoon to their buffet, so I can only talk about that experience, which is lovely. It is a very small place, and the buffet is also small, but I am never ever disappointed. Their Naan is fresh, hot, and made just for your table, and the tandoori chicken is made in small batches and brought to the buffet, so it does not sit around and dry out. I cannot wait to eat there without my kids!

Food was good until they changed recently. We went here a few times about a month ago and my girlfriend loved the food. We went to get food a few days ago and after noticing the sign on the door that said Himalayan Chaat, food wasn't the same. My girlfriend is very disappointed because this was her new favorite place for Indian food. Now we have to look somewhere else.

Food was ok, nothing exceptional but not a disappointment either. However, I have to mention about the service, this is probably the worst ever place in Buffalo in terms of customer service. There was only one waitress, she knows nothing about welcoming customers, putting a smile on her face, being pleasant, etc., She did not even come to our table to take the order, just totally rude or sloppy or whatever hell it was, overall very unpleasant and I would never visit this place again nor I recommend to anyone. Going to restaurant is just not only for eating, it's an experience with friends, colleagues and family. But Delhi Chaat experience is of different kind for all wrong reasons. There are many other Indian places in Buffalo offer similar or better food but with much better customer friendly atmosphere.

My favorite Indian restaurant in Buffalo, or anywhere. I highly recommend the Shahi Korma and Chicken Xacutti for entrees. For appetizers, try the Bread Pakora or award-winning Samosa Chaat. It's true that the service can be hit or miss. I look past it because it's a mom and pop shop... I've been here at all hours and days of the week, and I've only ever seen the chef, the hostess/cashier/waitress/etc, and a waiter. I still give it five stars on the quality of the food.

Small restaurant located in Amherst, staff are quick and curteous. Wide variety and selection of Indian dishes. Wednesday night buffet is defintely worth going to and enjoying. So is it good?? If you are looking for ambiance, first date, special occasion, etc go to Tandooris. But, if you want a less expensive but still quality meal, defintely experience Delhi Chaat. The food is great , the spices are exotic and a pleasure to the pallette and the garlic Naan is a great starter for your meal. Delhi Chaat is a great way for a person to try Indian food for the first time in a small atmosphere where the Waite staff take the time to explain the meal and spices.
