Bojangles

This review is difficult. This was our first visit to a Bojangles. The food was good. We ordered the Chicken sandwich Deluxe which included bacon, lettuce and tomato in addition to the usual Mayo and pickle with fries. It was good. Worth revisiting for. We also ordered 3 Pc chicken tender supremes, a little spicy kick with dirty rice and coleslaw. Also good. Nothing to necessarily write home about but good. The fries were the best part of the meal. A little different with a sprinkling of season salt that added flavor but isn’t as extreme as seasoned fries from Checkers or Arby’s. The Honey Mustard dipping sauce was our preferred choice. It definitely had a touch of honey and paired with a yellow mustard flavor not Dijon. It was delicious. Oh, and the sweet tea… YUM! Southern sweet and brewed, not syrup! It was neither too sweet nor bitter from over brewing. Based on the food we would give Bojangles another try, though we wouldn’t go out of our way to visit. Now, this location was a different matter. It was dirty. The windows were covered in what looked like oil. The tables were not cleaned. We arrived at 12:00 pm and they were just unlocking the doors so obviously the dining room was cleaned the evening before. The staff were extremely unprofessional though they were courteous enough. The person who took our order then went to the back and prepared our order while other staff stood around. One person looked through their mail while standing at the back counter. Another person walked around the back talking on their cell phone. Interestingly, there is a sign posted at the counter saying that cell phone use on shift would result in immediate termination. The cook, woman filling window orders and the gentleman taking dine in orders were busting their butts. The entire situation was weird while standing and waiting for ten minutes for chicken to cook. That being said, if we revisit Bojangles it will not be this location.

Spoke to the new manager. He was very friendly and seemed very sincere in addressing these issues. While the food was fine, getting what I ordered was really frustrating. First, with only 2 cars ahead of me, I had a 15 min. wait. Then, my simple order of 5 piece supreme combo, fries, no sauce, add slaw, lemonade was evidently way too difficult for staff to handle. After 4 tries, I finally got my order filled correctly. Had to prompt for my drink (oh, we don't have lemonade). Also, I was had to ask for my change ($8 +) then correct them when they shortchanged me (probably because they had lost the receipt in the process). What was supposed to be a quick and easy meal turned in to a real hassle.

Waited in the drive thru line behind 1 car for 5 minutes, then I order and they don’t tell me it’s a 10 minute wait for chicken until after I have ordered and paid. It’s been a total of 25 minutes now and I still don’t have my food. “Fast food”… yea right. Avoid all Bojangle’s in Athens if you can. This location needs new management and new staff

Horrible service at drive thru. Didn't give a receipt, got my order wrong , got chicken pieces instead of chicken Supremes, used too much spice, and we had to wait over 30 minutes. We were to have it brought out to us because had other people's orders in line ready, but had to go in anyway. While I waited, several employees looked out of the window to see if we were still there, one employee had all of his underwear showing. Worst Bojangles I've ever been to.
