The Blackbird Restaurant

We had dinner at Blackbird Restaurant and overall had a great experience. The cocktails were good, we sat at the bar and the service was decent. They seemed very busy, but the recommendations were good. We had the cornbread which was dry and not sweet enough for my preference. My fiancé who likes heat did. Duck Confit was my fiancé’s 5/5 he says and tasted like thanksgiving on a plate. I had the catch of the day and the risotto and beans were fantastic. The fish was meaty and white -started with a C, not catfish and it was well prepared. My personal favorite was the dessert pecan pie blonde and it was to die for. Warm, delectable and perfect with the French press coffee. Overall, I would go back back to Blackbird and it was a nice change of pace from Austin food especially for a day of reservation.

Very cool place and had a great time going on a date with my daughter. The food is super tasty and high level farm to table. My daughter had the cassoulet which tasted amazing and I had the vegetarian Wellington which was good. The only thing we didn't really care for was the French baguette which it was not. It was sort of a heavy doughy bread in a cast iron dish with lots of oil seeped into it. Way too heavy. We had a great time though and enjoyed the wait staff who was attentive.

Great spot for brunch which we learned they started doing daily! Beautiful restaurant with a lovely interior. Employees are very nice and food was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. Now for my standard comments. The location is clean and we were comfortable with the indoor seating options.

Update from September 2023: it’s a little inconsistent on the delivery of flavor. Under seasoned vs. super flavorful dishes. And they don’t have espresso?! Super super flavorful! They’re using local ingredients and many dishes are either perfect or close to perfect. Beef tartar was cooked (!!) lol so not our style but it was seasoned impeccably. And all dishes besides the beef pasta (which needed more salt) were seasoned perfectly. The cheese board was absolutely amazing! We’ll definitely be coming back for more.

We enjoyed our unique southern treat at Blackbird on the Eating Asheville High Rollers Food Tour. The chef created a special dish for us of Pasta, fresh corn, fresh local mushrooms, crisp bacon, fresh heirloom tomatoes. They have recently changed their hours/menu to now only serve Brunch & Dinner. We enjoyed their Sauvignon White wine also.

Hate to give 5-stars but this 💯 According to the reviews, it should not have been busy Tuesday at 7p, but it was - and I’m glad! We sat at the bar with a fantastic bartender. She was very knowledgeable about the food and made a fantastic Mojito ☺️ Hubs had the seafood and I had the goat cheese corn pie - both were amazing. The flavors were Perfectly married on each plate. We also ordered the cauliflower appetizer and it was good, it was served with nuts and a goat cheese sauce.
