Pancake Circus

Pancake Circus should be considered a historical landmark. It is an iconic and cozy diner. Yes, there is a 1970s clown decor but that is the appeal. You come here for a feeling, the Sacramento before it was “hip” and the “Farm to Fork” Capitol. The food is diner food and a million times better than chain diner food. Service is great and friendly. If you want a quirky breakfast/brunch experience, this is your spot!

That’s my first time dining here, and I have to give them five stars all the way around there was no waiting to get to the table and literally our food was brought to us within 10 minutes of ordering. It was hot. It was fresh and it was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a good place to eat, serves their customers in a timely fashion with both service and food. Then come here definitely try it out. We will be back.

However, with each visit, that irony gave way to a heartfelt love. The impeccable food, the welcoming staff, and the one-of-a-kind ambiance became undeniable. And let's not overlook the decor – with each visit, the eclectic clown art becomes increasingly endearing. Without a doubt, Pancake Circus serves the best breakfast in Sacramento. Don't miss out on this unique and authentic experience!

Love this spot! Great food, it has a diner vibe with generous portions! Staff was super friendly as well. I ended up misplacing my wallet and the whole team went above and beyond. I left my phone number at the restaurant and after I was able to track it down they still called to check the next day and make sure I had found it. Very caring and good natured people. My partner and I are excited to become regulars there!

I was not impressed when I walked in since they have so much stuff & it was a definite turn off. I wanted to leave but I had just picked up my friend from the hospital and he needed to eat. Well I was pleasantly surprised. My bacon , egg, hashbrown, and toast was very good...hashbrowns had a nice crisp outside and soft inside and did NOT have a bunch of grease. My eggs cooked to perfection. I will be back since the place was clean, the bathroom also was nice and clean. The only suggestion I have is to get rid of all the junk when you walk in since it just looks cluttered and junky.

I visited when the atmosphere was small and quiet. After living in Sacramento for decades and passing by this place, 2023 is the first time I've ever eaten here. Service is good. The restaurant is clean. I like their pancakes. Fluffy. Large. Satisfying. Tasty. I've had a burger and fries. They were all right. I was disappointed in the lemonade. It's just regular lemonade with added fruit. I expected the ice cream to be more than a scoop for the price and taste amazing, but it's better to go a few blocks to the parlor for that experience. On my last trip, I tried wings and waffles. The waffle was good, but the wings were fried a little too hard to fully enjoy them. I don't know what the excitement is for this combination yet, but I didn't find it here. I may try something else, but it seems that my best bet is to stick with what the restaurant is named for, pancakes. I'll see...
