Gunther's Quality Ice Cream

Want to Gunther's on a hot Thursday afternoon. Fortunately the line was short and we were able to order and be served quickly. This is the best ice cream, not just in town, but anywhere. It's also very nostalgic to return here regularly since I've been visiting since I was a child. I remember these clown sundaes were always a favorite. As an adult, my favorite will always be Swiss Orange Chip. Today we picked up a couple pre packs for a special birthday.

This is THE place to stop if you’re in Sacramento, visiting Sacramento, driving through Sacramento or just want an excuse to eat ice cream. I’ve come here on every one of my visits from the Bay Area and it’s now become a tradition. Gunther’s has a vintage retro charm to it with a huge neon sign out from, lots of bright colors, and classic black and white photos on the walls. The inside is small so often the line wraps around the building but things move fast. Once you get your order there is plenty of seating along the sidewalks. Parking is a breeze too as the shop is located in a quiet residential area. The ice cream itself is amazing! Go for the Gunther’s half and half which is two scoops of fruit freeze and one scoop of ice cream. I had a mango and guava freeze with vanilla ice cream and it was the best combo and so refreshing to eat on a hot summer day. Can’t wait for my next visit already!!
