Freeport Bakery

Our photographer said our cake was the most beautiful wedding cake she's ever seen. Freeport Bakery has good customer service, and our cake tasted good and looked stunning. There were a few things that could've made our experience better though. 1. They were supposed to set up the cake upon arrival, but for some reason they dropped it off in the kitchen, so it wasn't set up until an hour later when I noticed it was missing. It wasn't our caterer's job to set up the cake, but luckily they did it anyway with no extra charge. 2. We should've just ordered the 2-tiered display cake, instead of an additional sheet cake. Our caterer also provided cookies and brownies, so we barely made a dent on the cake. When I asked Freeport for advice beforehand, they gave me a vague answer and said it was my choice. Since they've been running a bakery for years, I thought they'd have more expertise to advise me on the correct dessert portion. This could've saved us money and wasted less food. 3. We're more into cake than frosting, so we would've preferred less frosting, since it was really sweet.

We've been customers of Freeport Bakery for years (the fruit tart is my husband's go-to "birthday cake"; the shadow fresa is his sister's favorite) and made the excellent decision to order our wedding cake and dessert bar through them, for our wedding at Scribner Bend on 6/10/2023. The process was super straightforward. We did an at-home tasting to decide on what cake flavors and dessert bar items we wanted. We then had a phone consultation where we reviewed the ordering process, quantities of each item, and payment specifics. The paperwork and payments were exactly as expected. We ended up with more "yes" RSVPs than expected and Freeport was able to accommodate a larger cake and more dessert bar items than originally anticipated, with no fuss. Averi and Susan were so professional and knowledgeable. I never felt like they were trying to sell us more, and at the same time there was no issue when I asked to bump up the size of our order only a few weeks before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the delivery was super smooth, with no involvement on our end. The cake looked exactly how we had requested, and tasted fantastic. We got the lemon poppyseed cake with strawberry cream filling and Italian buttercream frosting, which was perfect for a summer wedding. The dessert bar items (lemon bars, cream puffs, fruit tarts, two kinds of cookie) were devoured by our guests in record time. Every item was well received. I'm so glad that we ordered our wedding desserts through Freeport Bakery, and highly recommend them for anyone planning their wedding.

we loved our cake! they made the process smooth, and they provided timely communications while we were preparing for the wedding from the start of the process all the way up to the wedding date. the cake turned out beautifully and was delivered on time to the venue. we loved how it all turned out, and everybody was impressed. can't wait to eat our anniversary cake next year!

I ordered a 7 inch cake and individual tarts from them for a baby shower. Really great stuff!! I am from out of town so when we were planning this thing, I just went with the reviews. I would've liked to have had a custom cake but since they aren't doing those, I had to go with the options they have. I was not disappointed! I got the lemon cooler cake with the modern flower decoration and a dozen individual fruit tarts. Placed the order about a week ago. Called them yesterday to confirm that the order was ready and yes it was! The lemon cooler cake was very very moist!! Lots of lemon which we loved. There was just enough frosting to taste sweet without going overboard. Quite light too! The fruit tarts were also delicious! The custard was just sweet enough and they had strawberries, kiwis, grapes etc. The people at the store were very nice too. They have a parking lot so don't worry about not finding parking. Pricing-wise it is a tad on the higher side (I spent $139 for the 7 inch cake, including a $20 fee for decoration and the individual tarts). But they are delicious so I thought it was worth the extra money! Recommend them for your next event for sure!
