Paolucci Restaurant & Lounge

We were traveling through Abeliene, KS to see the Sallie House. Decided to have lunch at a local establishment in a nice little town. This place has history and has a lot of potential. I think it does need some revamping. It's confusing which door to go in because it has a lounge and restaurant. It's pretty dark inside. Our server was a little slow and was managing 3-4 tables. She could have been new. She was very polite. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, which usually comes with marinara. We had to request it after it was brought out. Which was a little soupy. I ordered the cheeseburger meal and it says upon request for lettuce, tomato, pickles, ect. I ordered it with pickles. And I ordered the substitute for chips as a salad with ranch. I was given a salad with ranch. But when the food arrived there were chips, and a pickle spear. No pickles on the burger just cheese. Before we could ask for ketchup and mustard the waitress was gone. We waited again to eat because we were waiting to request something that should have been offered. The food was okay. No signature items and nothing offered as the specials. I hope some improvements can be made and it would be a nice local restaurant to return to. As of now it was just okay.

Even though I love their breakfast food I’m not giving five stars because the female server wouldn’t do curbside pickup today 5/1/22. I have two little babies that make it very difficult to get in a out of places easily. And carrying out a large order of food with the kids is impossible. I understand being busy but come on.

I love trying small local restaurants and Paolucci's didn't disappoint. The charming decor was a perfect match for the unassuming presentation. And yet it was the most delicious Ceasars salad I have had in a very long time. The broached chicken was tender and juicy. The lasagna was delicious and very filling. We heard from an adjoining table how awesome the catfish was. Loved every bite. Oh and the servers were so friendly ad attentive I almost forgot we were eating out. 5 stars isn't enough!

My husband's hot beef was so tough he couldn't eat it, but still was charged for it 10 minutes after I had ordered my chicken all white, I was told they didn't have any breasts. Then when I did receive my chicken it was 1 leg, 2 tiny thighs, didn't even get any wings. My son's lemonade refill tasted like dirty dish water.

Grandpa this is the best place you picked! So says my grandkids. I like picking out local spots to try out and this place didn't disappoint. Service was attentive, friendly, affordable and the food was served hot and fresh, what a rare concept! If you're in Atchison Kansas this is a must try you will not be disappointed.
