I-84 Diner

This classic diner is located not far from Fishkill farms so it's a great place to grab something to eat or drink after working hard under the sizzling sun picking produce. The menu is vast and you should explore the French fries section with more than 10 different menu options. Prices were reasonable, portions were big and our server Michael was one of the best. Kids coloring pages and a kids menu are available. Plenty of parking.

The Greek gyro was very delicious, our server was awesome. I was impressed with how well kept the restaurant was, especially with all the glass, chrome that decorated this place. I recommend this restaurant. It's right off I-84 in Fishkill, NY. Stop by and enjoy! P.S. I wish I would have gotten more pictures of this fabulous establishment, lol.

So I ordered the Yankee pot roast with mashed potatoes and corn with a side of turkey soup. When I got there I was informed they ran out of mashed potatoes.... Wasn't too happy about the fact that I wasn't told this when I ordered but I settled for french fries... When I got back to my hotel I saw the sorry excuse for a soup container and was beyond disappointed but still kept an open mind having yet to try the pot roast... Shortly after my sip of soup I tried the "Yankee Pot Roast" and instead of falling apart like any other properly cooked pot roast I've had it was the toughest most disgustingly cooked meat I've ever tried to force myself to eat. I made it 4 bites with two square looking slices and gave up.. If all this wasn't bad enough this place used to cater to truckers and was open 24/7... They are now open until 9 for dine in and 10 for take out... 10/10 wouldn't recommend to anyone. Do yourself a favor and just go to McDonald's or Burger King....

What a fabulous diner! You walk in to be greeted by a charming statue of a roller derby queen. Walk up an incline to a table with napkins and hand sanitizer with a basket for the napkins. Everything immediately looks immaculate. You are politely greeted by a gentleman who lead me exactly where I wanted to be seated. Ashley, a very sweet and attentive server, took my order. The portions were delicious and huge. The photo doesn’t show the chicken orzo soup, but it was also delicious. I didn’t know the quiche would be coming with all that fruit which by itself would cost more than 50% of the entire combination meal. I certainly hope this place is doing well and will continue for many years because they absolutely give more than your money’s worth. Did I say that the food was delicious, huge portions and that the service was perfect? They’re even playing my music. Just go.

Had a Salmon salad. It was very good. Dressing was excellent a balsamic dressing. French onion soup was excellent full of flavor. My son had Chicken tenders they were average. I ordered a side of sautéed broccoli. It was horrible. It was like they took steamed broccoli and dropped it in olive oil with garlic mixed it and served and it was a pathetic sized portion.

While the website shows it closing at 10:00 PM on a Friday, I called and determined that they were open until 10:45 PM. We showed up within an hour of closing, and they still served us great food, and we were the only ones there. Great portions, great service, and the food portions are huge. We had no complaints. We highly recommend going there. And, it is one of those classic diners that has a classic cool look.
