The Flame Steakhouse

The loaded French fries & house made ranch were a delicious appetizer. My date and I were told asparagus isn't always on the menu but they had it available so we both ordered it as our side & enjoyed it. She loved her tuna, the appetizer portion was perfect and raw as she preferred. My steak was very well flavored and cooked to perfection. The mushrooms had that canned metallic flavor but our server assured us they were fresh. Service was good. Lounge is beautiful and reminiscent of an old steakhouse. It was packed, glad we called ahead for a reservation.

One of the best steaks I have ever had. Grilled perfectly. The Bangin Shrimp were amazing too. This place was recommended by an employee at the Sanford Antique Mall and could not have been happier with out choice to come here. The staff was so friendly and happy to seat us even tho we didnt have a reservation. Will definitely make the drive back to The Flame.

I had previously went to the other steakhouse in Wilson NC. Since that is a bit far, coworker and I went to The Flames as it is close. That was a great decision. While they don’t bring the entire roast out,we noticed after dinner that the ribeye steak is fresh cut from a while roast just like the other place. The steak we ordered was cooked perfectly to our ordered doneness. It was super tender and juicy. The only issue I would note is that there was a bit too much salt in a section of the steak. Otherwise it was great. all in all, this is a great steak house.

This place disappointed us from the start. The bread that came out was like store bought Hawaiian tolls heated up, the Cesar salad was like a tossed grocery salad , the bang bang type shrimp came on a plate with no type of garnish at all! We ordered Prime Rib was okay not anything spectacular. And the “mashed Parmesan potatoes” were no lie… instant mashed potatoes! I can’t believe we spent $131 on this meal!! I feel like I was robbed! So disappointed!

We went in to celebrate a new job. My friends had been going there for years and talked me into it. I had just retired from Active Duty service of 22 years and we were celebrating that too. They no longer have a kids menu and we asked the waitress for the manager. She went and complained that we were being rude, when we just wanted someone to explain something and she had been getting testy with us -hence why we needed a manager. The Manager and Owner came over and basically told us that we could leave and she would not create anyone a kids menu or start splitting steaks so that families could bring their children to her restaurant, but from what I understood, she also owns the ice cream parlor that is next door. I have never been more appalled at an American than the way we were treated and frankly, my friend and I served this country so she could apparently be that rude and disrespectful in front of their children and direct us to leave and not come back. I hope others use this story and boycott this place because it’s owner was a very snooty person and doesn’t deserve good patrons’ hard earned money! We wound up getting better steaks at a more reasonable price for 1/5th what we would have paid there and wayyyyyyy better service by going to a franchise operation in the next town!
