Oishii Japanese Cuisine

I ordered food about 10 times from here and I've only had a complaint about the food once, my complain this time is about the workers and delivery boys at this place. I ordered spicy tuna once and the tuna was very dark -instead of being pink it was brown and it tasted horrible. I waste 8.95 on it and had to throw it out. But overall I like the sushi I order- shrimp tempura avacado, California, and chicken tempura. However, I ordered sushi 10 times and they take an hour each time to get it to my house, but I understand they are busy. HOWEVER, they are late and on top of that the delivery boy never reads the price written on the receipt. My order was $16.31 and I only had a $20 bill, the delivery boy did not carry change! Like how are you a delivery boy if your job does not provide that for you. I did not have change on me. So I had to run to the nearby store to get change. I even tipped the delivery boy $2 because it's not his fault he's new. However, I ordered sushi the next day and the lady complained that I did not tip 9/10 times. First off, who asks for a tip? Ive been a loyal customer and I will no longer be buying from this sushi place. I tipped even when they were late, did not have change on them, went to the wrong house. Smh I am done. Their customer service sucks.

I feel like 90% of the time, my go-to place to eat is closed/no longer delivers to me, so I choose a different place, and then I'm super disappointed. Adding Oishii to that list. So I love Umi Sushi in Fresh Meadows. It's no Blue Ribbon but they've yet to really let me down. Of course they're not on Seamless, and of course their Yelp delivery menu is off, so I went to UberEats and discover Oishii. Great reviews? Check Menu with lots of variety? Check So I ordered. A $50 order. That's a lot to drop on some lunch but I convinced my boyfriend to try something new (and on my dime), and I have so many regrets. I ordered the Black Angel, Spicy Girl, Spider, and Volcano roll. If you read the descriptions online, they all sound exotic, flavorful, exciting, unique, but in person...let me tell you....they were hardly that. The quality of fish was normal queens delivery sushi quality, but the flavor was not there. I could hardly taste the "creamy wasabi sauce" in the black angel roll, the jalapeno in the spicy girl roll was not spicy and tasted like a regular green pepper, the soft shell crab was super fried, and the volcano roll missed the CRUNCH in the crunchy tuna! HOW. When I read back what I ordered, I was shocked that so much advertised flavor could be so deceiving. I would probably stick to the basic spicy tuna or philly rolls here, because thats what their "special" rolls tasted like to me. I will say, their seaweed salad is very good and the portion is good for the price. Everything else...not so much. Two stars for nice packaging, fast delivery, and good seaweed salad.

Delicious red curry UPDATE Sept 2017: I've now been back 5 or 6 times, to dine in, and every time the wait to receive my food has been horrendous. Meanwhile, delivery food is going out the door left and right. If you want to go here, get delivery, don't sit down. Food is good but absolutely not worth spending your evening waiting for it.

I just got the food delivered from this restaurant through Seamless App. Once the delivery guy look at me, he yelled at me and crazily complained about the tip amount. This restaurant charged me $2 mandatory delivery fee so I decreased the amount of my tip. I explained him about it but he said " I don't know anything about delivery fee!!! And banged the door and disappeared. I am definitely not going to order from this restaurant again... Horrible experience...

I'm not one to do this but June 9,2017, ordered food & fish soup which before was always good. But when we got it, who makes fish soup with chicken broth?? I called but that didn't help. So the next day, I brought it over and said I wanted a refund. They don't do cash refunds but they'll make it anyway you want. So I just said, how do you change it just like that?? Fish soup should be fish soup & chicken soup, should be chicken soup. Anyway, as usual the woman acted dumb. So I asked for the manager. The woman gave me the phone, I was told they don't refund cash but will make it anyway I want. Well, they lost a good customer. The other owner who had it before was so nice to my husband & i. It's different owners now. The other day, saw they got a B grading. Will tell my friends in the neighborhood especially after the soup ordeal, that was just mean. And I'm sure they won't last long there. Esp, running it the way they do. That's Karma, for you.
