Zen Sushi

The sushi is nicely decorated and the rolls well-made but I felt the fish quality was lacking. The sushi is very regular priced, don't be misled by "Happy Hour Prices All Day" ($40+ for 3 rolls). I asked for spicy mayo and got none, but that could be a result of miscommunication or that I hadn't tipped (take-out)

I've been living in lake forest for about 5 years and have tried every sushi place in town. If you want the best sushi in town come here, their fish is always super fresh and well cut. I actually feel pretty spoiled now that I've eaten here about 10+ times, super consistent quality and friendly staff!

Best sushi and service in Lake forest!!!! We come here every week and love the all day happy hour specials. Great happy hour selections and prices!! Many rolls for $8.50, apps for $4.50 and drinks 1/2 off!! Great atmosphere!! Kid friendly too! Chef Kenny are great and awesome! Every dish tastes delicious! This place is wonderful and I can't tell enough people about it! GO!

I stopped by Zen with a friend for their happy hour sushi and a few drinks. I ordered three orders of salmon and one order of tuna nigiri. They were both fresh and satisfying. I also had some filtered and unfiltered sake, which was also satisfying. The food and service at zen were both good. The sushi chef and waitresses were both attentive and kind. I would definitely come back for more. The only thing that put me off, and this is being kind of picky, is the urinal in the men's restroom was utterly disgusting (check the photo). With that said, I'll be coming back the next time I'm in the area.

A thoroughly unpleasant experience. Server had attitude. It was hot inside the restaurant. They had the radio booming bass and wouldn't turn it down. Sushi was fine. But you can get decent sushi anywhere. Probably the worst thing is we have kids and they seated us at the only booth where there was a tiny little opening where the kids could sneak through into a storage area and couldn't get to them. But at least it was expensive, and their "happy hour" prices are more expensive than other sushi places regular prices.

Definitely one of the better sushi places in the area. All the sushi hand and cut rolls we ordered were tasty, happy hour snacks were well executed, and there is plenty of variety of dishes including ramen. I don't recommended this place for big groups though, they only have two large tables that can accommodate more than 4 people. Service wasn't fast either, mind you it was a busy Friday night, so don't be in a rush if you come here.
