The Goodland

Hands down the best patisserie around. Delray/boynton has a few great bakeries around these days but for sweet treats, The Goodland is definitely my favorite. The almond croissants are the best I have ever had and he makes some gorgeous pastries that are too beautiful to eat, but when you do, they taste as wonderful as they look!

New Cute little hidden gem in Delray!! Very pretty and delicious pastries and not pricey at all. I got 2 beautiful pastries (that are almost too beautiful to eat) and 2 large chocolate chip cookies for $15!! Each pastry is extremely affordable, about $5 each. That’s unheard of especially in Delray. The owner Matthew is as sweet as can be too. There’s not a sign up yet but it’s next door to The Nest of Delray Beach.

I drove by, and decided to try this place. It was such a good decision! This is one of the best bakeries I have every visited! I tried a few items (for the sake of discovery), and each one exceeded my expectations. The staff was knowledgeable, and really enjoyed explaining the different offerings. This is tucked in right off the street, and parking was easy. There are a few seats there, if you want to enjoy the magic onsite. I would without reservation recommend this place to everyone. It is as of yet undiscovered, but that will not last for long!

Best Pasteries EVER! France is no match. Croissants, cookies all equally amazing. Delicious Balance of flavors! Exceptional quality , expertise. As a professional “Pastry Eater” who has spent time in France, don’t miss this gem. Look for the yellow circle says “GoodLand” , on Federal highway and George bush blvd intersection (two doors down from gas station on corner northbound) Small place, home town feel but Mighty-good stuff... And he’s philanthropic animal lover.

Stopped into The Goodland today in DelRay, right near George Bush Blvd and I'm glad I did, everything was 5 Stars. Took a few things home with me, The Croissant was perfectly down, also had the Monkey Bread which was out of this world, My wife had the Apple Brioche, which she said was amazing. If you get a chance, This is a must Stop Stop place, The Owner Matt is very personable and does a GREAT job !!!

As a pastry chef/baker I guess I am a tough audience... but the croissant I had was seriously undercooked and the two pastry items I took home were overly sweet. I was excited to visit the two bakeries on 6th in Delray (I am visiting from Maine) but found both disappointing and very pricey. My house host tried the quiche and said it was so-so. We are going to try Loic and Sant Ambroeus in Palm Beach before I leave, just for fun comparison.

The proprietor is totally unprofessional, does not return phone calls and reneged on an agreement he made with me as a customer. He seems like a very angry man. I went in, after 6 unreturned phone calls to come up with a fair resolution to a simple confusion and before I left he - not I - was uttering obscenities. I checked out his former associates in California and apparently this is not the first time his personality has unfortunately transcended his skill. So now the supposed quiche eater posts a totally false review. My order was hardly complicated- I picked several items out of the case. I paid and I asked Matt to hold them for later pick-up . I could not return - and taking Matt at his word that if I could not get back he would resell or donate the items - I called 6 times over 3 days to arrange a pickup. I have the phone records and when I finally reached him he said " you can't call, you have to come in". When I went in and said what do we do now he said he had pitched the goods and I was out of luck. He called me an a......., and screamed "don't come back". The new review that he encouraged us not only defamatory but inaccurate. He has decided he knows my name is a "moniker " (wrong and insulting) and I am an old man eccentric. Nice value judgment using his best Sigmund Freud skills. I have done a lot of investment banking for restaurants and am interested in chefs and their art. His recall of my conversation with the proprietor is totally made-up . I appreciate that he is loyal to his favorite quiche spot but lying is not appropriate, nor are defamatory comments. I had already observed Matt's anger bent when he went off on another customer on my first visit. Keep track - this guy will implode before long and the Goodland Bakery will be the Goodbye Bskery in less than a year. Again, good baker, bad business man.
