Mama Fu's

I have driven pass this venue many times saying that I need to check out this place. Today, I checked it out and I will continue to drive by this venue, many times. I arrived shortly after 2 p.m. when the lunch specials ended. I asked the young lady taking orders would it be possible to still get the lunch special and after consulting with the young man besides her and without even looking at me, this kid mumbled to the young lady, "the lunch specials have finished, it's happy hour now". I should have walked out then but I was hungry and behind schedule. I ordered the Pad Thai with 'Choice Steak', side salad, and a glass of chardonnay for digestive purposes. Actually, I would have ordered Pepto Bismol if it was on the menu. I ordered the Pad Thai, bean sprouts, carrot, scallion, fried egg, tofu, rice noodles, pad Thai sauce, peanut, cilantro, lime wedge, and the 'Choice Steak'. When I read on Yelp about Mama Fu's Asian House bringing the 'flavors and tastes from across Asia to your table', I believe that they forgot and left my flavors and tastes in Asia. That was the most tasteless meal I've had in a very long time. I think that I'm gonna stop writing while I'm ahead. This is my third draft. The first two were inappropriate and cruel. I'm sorry but I won't be giving this venue a second chance, ONE AND DONE!!

I ordered via Door Dash, I didn’t visit the restaurant, so I can’t comment on that or the service. I had the Veggie Pad Thai and ordered it extra spicy. It was tasty and arrived extra spicy as requested. The portion size was also decent. However, it was severely lacking in veggies, and was mainly noodles. It had 6 or 7 green beans, 5 or 6 slices of mushrooms, 5 or 6 pieces of broccoli, and a few shredded carrots. I was expecting more veggies in it, since the dish was $11.99 (before Door Dash fees). The three stars I gave them are for the overall value of the dish as described above. I didn’t factor the info below into my rating because I don’t know if the Door Dash driver was telling the truth. But I figured, I would add the info, just in case others see a pattern with the place. I ordered at 7:43pm and was promised a delivery time of 8:13pm. My meal didn’t arrive until 8:35pm, because the driver said they were just preparing my meal when he got to the restaurant. Not sure who to believe on this one, there are two sides to every Door Dash deliver issue… After Door Dash fees, tip, and tax, it was a total of $19.20.

We stopped here after getting drinks at Fuzzy's so I could get myself some dumplings because I am a very big fan of them. I think it might have been around 7: 30 or so and there was no way they didn't seem busy at all, so that meant that we got served immediately. The service was very friendly, the entire restaurant look pristine and the dumplings were amazing. I would order a hundred dumplings if I had the funds to and I probably wouldn't finish them all but they're really good and I would try my hardest. I plan to come back here soon and would definitely recommend Mama Fu's Asian house to anyone who enjoys Chinese food. Especially since I'm Bastrop there aren't many options when it comes to that cuisine.

Service: Reasonable but not memorable. which is fitting a quick bite establishment. Food: Food quality was good, food was hot and fresh and had good flavor. I found the amount of chicken in the dish to be lacking... so maybe I should have opted for the "double protein" option. Value: This is where Fu's gets dinged... although the food was good, I honestly do not feel a bowl of noodles, veggies, and very little chicken, with Eggrolls, and an Iced tea warranted the $21 price tag. perhaps step up the service game and make it a more memorable experience to help warrant the cost.
