To say that I was shocked to know that Asheville has an Ethiopian restaurant would be an understatement. After driving from ATL to Asheville, NC from my winter road trip, my friend and I were hungry.
So before we headed out to our secluded Airbnb in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we stopped here. The restaurant wasn't packed but was fairly empty when we arrived, but the service was nonetheless amazing. The male server was very nice and gave good recommendations on the vegan tibs which are tempeh.
I've never been to an Ethiopian restaurant that offers a vegan option to tibs. So that was a plus and a first. We ordered the vegan/vegetarian platter for two people. It was extremely delicious and the food melted in my mouth.
It was so flavorful and did not lack any seasonings whatsoever. I loved the atmosphere because they played nice music that met well with the Ethiopian theme and the photos on the wall made me feel like I was in Africa enjoying my yummy meal.
I love that they offer Reed's Ginger beer, it is spicy but tasty. On our week-long trip to Asheville, we ate here twice. Also, another thing that I loved was the fact that they give you an abundance of injera.
I can't wait to return the next time I visit Asheville!

Service was a tad slow on a Saturday night, but very friendly. Food was pretty good but the quantity was small for the price paid. Not a bad option if you're hungry for this type of food.

Delicious food, warm/friendly service! I enjoyed the red lentils with a side of the collards. Perfect texture and hint of sweet and spicy, with a smoky note. Highly recommended!

My first time eating Ethiopian was one to remember! The atmosphere is lovely and the staff is welcoming and loving. The food was AWESOME! Easy to digest with the fermented, GLUTEN-FREE bread with plenty of vegan and carnivore options. All very affordable and generously portioned.
Im so glad we decided to try something different. This is a MUST try!

Truly awesome food. Eat with your fingers and embrace the experience! Share a platter with an extra side or share two platters. As spicy as you like, or not. I recommend the two platter option. You've gotta try this place!

If you are an adventurous eater and have never tried Ethiopian food, you should definitely try this place. Ethiopian food has its own unique flavor and is not like any other style of cuisine. They use plenty of vegetables and lentils that are well seasoned. The two main meat options are beef and chicken. The Ethiopian tradition is to order together, and it is served on a large plate for sharing. Everything we had was delicious and we had very friendly service.

Stepping into Addissae Ethiopian Restaurant is like diving into a flavorful food fiesta from Ethiopia! Where else would the staff's grins rival the warmth of their spicy lentil dishes? Dream of chicken so tender it practically does a little jig off the bone and onto your plate! One tiny grumble: more wings, please, and maybe some exotic Ethiopian drinks to make the taste journey complete. The vegetarian platter? Think of it as a passport to a world of flavors minus the airfare. Surrounded by mesmerizing Ethiopian art, it's easy to forget you're still in the city. And the prices? As pleasantly surprising as the cuisine. If your taste buds fancy a detour from the usual curry highway, this hotspot is your culinary GPS. Bon voyage!

We placed a take out order for the Addissae vegetarian platter for two of us to eat for dinner. The order was did not take long to be ready and the staff was quick and helpful. The platter was enough food for two people and was a great way to try several different options from their menu. Everything tasted amazing and we would love to go back again.

Very authentic food with wonderful spices and seasoning. Highly recommend the beef tibbs (ask for it spicy). The misir, gomen, and shiro sides were glorious tasting as well.

Dude I can't say enough about the food here! I've been everywhere from the west coast to the east and this is totally my favorite Ethiopian place by far.
If you've never had Ethiopian, you won't regret eating here! And if you have, come try this place out!
I got the Tibbs and they were freaking amazing, I'll probably order it every time lol.
