Frieda's Cafe

We happened to be in Willmar to drop a load off nearby. Luckily, we found Frieda's Café and the stellar reviews. Not knowing it was cash only, we had to run to an atm, a block away. First, selection and price points were an anomaly. I attached a photo to prove it. Secondly, Amy greeted us and was also our server. She took the time to answer my question about the origin of the spot too. *Frieda, the original owner came from Germany. She and her husband acquired it in 1990, keeping the structure, style, good food and NAME. Hash browns were on point! You know I love crispy ones right off the top. Eggs and bacon also cooked perfectly. Pancakes and sausage on L's plate super satisfactory. Definitely what you want in a smaller town diner. Highly recommend! Will return for sure (with cash). 😊

I ate there for the first time today and it was just as advertised. A good home-cooked meal for a ridiculously low price. I had the roast beef dinner special(which came with mashed potatoes,green beans,and a piece of bread),a root beer,and homemade strawberry shortcake for dessert,and my bill was less than $10.00!

Small diner with counter stools and tables&chairs. I had a small hamburger with tomato, onion, and lettuce ($1.70) and small salad-not from a sack ($1.70). Wife had a cheese burger ($1.65) and onion rings ($2.50). I mention the prices bc they are so low! Food was great, small talk from other tables was enjoyed and service was prompt and friendly. A pleasure for a late lunch!
