Kitchen 1883 - Union

I ordered the biscuits and gravy, but tried elements of every person's plate at my table. Biscuits and gravy are one my all time favorite meals and I have ordered them at breakfast joints across the US. Restaurants are constantly trying to replicate their grandmother's recipe and almost always fall flat. What set Kitchen 1883 apart was that they embraced change in their recipe. This sausage gravy was uniquely smoky, offering an interesting take on a classic. I would highly recommend the biscuits and gravy. Another notable item worth mentioning are the fried potatoes. They were flavorful and crispy. Everything I tried here was delicious and the service was great!

Decent food. Horrible service. The breakfast was not bad, not worth the high price but the potatoes were terrific. The service was subpar. We came into the restaurant when it first opened so being busy was not an excuse. Ordered the breakfast and though got most of it. Waited, technically still waiting, for biscuits and gravy. By the time I realized they weren't bringing it we did not have enough time to wait. I give restaurants a pass now a days for things like this when they are busy and have a staff shortage but if there is literally only one other table not bringing the entire order is not acceptable. I would not eat here again.

Tried to go to another Union establishment but was closed and 1883 was our plan B. So glad the other place was closed. Welcomed by a friendly host and our server was just as nice. Had a variety off the menu, all of which were very good. The lettuce wedge, 1883 hamburger, cali-sprout app and hatch patty melt. I can definitely recommend and will return.
