Worst upsell experience of our lives. We decided to buy a couple of teas that were up for sample. The clerk of course tried to measure higher than we wanted despite my saying "exactly 3 ounces of each". No, that doesn't mean that 5 ounces is OK -- she even printed the 5 oz. label before being told, again, that this was not OK and we wanted THREE ounces. Then of course we were upsold on containers. Then on sugar, which are apparently magic sugar rocks because it took 3 or 4 "no"s until the clerk moved on, tutting and shaking her head at our apparent stupidity. Even after being told explicitly to "stop trying to sell us anything else" the annoying clerk kept! on! upselling! I not only walked out with our fifty-dollar tea order sitting on the counter, but I will never shop here again, and I will dissuade others from doing so. I don't know what corporate policy is on sales quotas, upselling, and commission, but they need to be changed before I'd even think of walking into one of these stores again. The two stars, rather than one, is for the nice smell coming off the place and for the free tea samples outside, because every penny you can wrest from this horrible place is a penny towards goodness and justice in the world and away from bad things like the Southcenter Teavana. Find another place to buy tea -- it's nearly impossible for it to be more expensive elsewhere, and you'll have a far, far better customer service experience.
