Dickey's Barbecue Pit

Back story...I ordered door dash about 2 weeks ago. It was my first experience eating brisket...it wàs delicious!!! However, the portion wouldn't fill my 3 year old grandson belly....So I decided to stop through, told a young lady by the name of Kelly my experience..,Well needless to say, Kelly and Brandy apologized, and made it right😊 My dine in experience today was 5 stars. The professional demeanor and yet making you feel at home was superb! Again, thank you Kelly and Brandy for showing the best customer experience I've had in a very long time 😊

I want to give them a good review after looking through the other ones. I had it delivered, I got the cheddar sausage, polish sausage, brisket. the meat is good and I like the Carolina bbq sauce. I do wish the mac & cheese had more of a sharp cheddar taste rather than Velveeta taste, maybe even some breadcrumbs. That’s what I imagined from a bbq place. I could eat a lot of the loaded baked potato casserole alone!

I give dickey's bbq four stars because I have found only one other place in the Phoenix area that is better. And that place is a long way away from me. So. To have very decent bbq close to me is a positive thing... the flavors That come out of this bbq joint are on point. Every thing I have tried is very good. My only criticism is that I wish there were smoke rings in the brisket. I understand that's hard to accomplish but the other place I mentioned gets that done. Otherwise the brisket is tender and not too dry. It basically melts in your mouth hole. Also. The pulled pork is juicy and tender and delicious. I do wish however that both meats had a little more Smokey flavor. But... here's the kicker! Their sauces are outstanding! I wish they'd bottle it! Their sauces make everything on the menu awesome! I particularly like the spicy. Reminds me of my Texas roots. The sweet is also very good and my second favorite. I find their regular a little to watery. And I also find that if you mix the regular and the hot, you've really got something! There is a dry seasoning they use on the pulled pork that is also very good. Ok. Sides: I cannot get enough of their green beans. They're cooked with onion and bacon fat, just like my great grandmother used to do it and they're amazing. Cabbage slaw: like a grown up adult version of kfc. And I mean that in the best possible way. I am a huge fan of kfc coleslaw. And I'm a huge fan of these. Mac and cheese: very good. Very cheesy. I wouldn't mind a little jalapeño or green chile in them. But. That's why spicy bbq sauce! Cornbread: real good and also real sweet. Cornbread is something else I like jalapeños or green chiles in. But these are very good. Staff is very friendly. Place is clean. I haven't had the ribs yet. I'll get that next time and will update appropriately. So far, overall, I'd give 4 1/2 stars if I could. Ps: dickey's also uses door dash if you would like delivery. That's what I did the first time.
