In a food coma as I write this! I really thought I would be looking for meat or the taste of meat. This did not disappoint.
This take-out spot is narrow and can get very busy, especially on the weekend. Once you walk in you're hit with the delicious smell of food. The price is reasonable and the food is delicious.
I did want to point out the one negative review about the customer service and attitude. This is not true, the person who wrote this may have been on a power trip coming in because I am clearly not West Indian and I was welcomed nor treated any different than their own.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! This put vegetarian cuisine into a whole new perspective.

Action Bronson was not lying about the amazing food.
Oh... MY! I had the mac 'n' cheese, rice with raisins, and two "meat" dishes with more vegetables in them. It was busy and loud and I just picked what looked good. SSSOOOOO good. I'm not vegan, just believe good food is good food. Of the two "meat" dishes I'm confident I could take them to an outing and I don't think most people could tell. As for the mac 'n' cheese, with the Caribbean twist of what seemed like a bit of curry powder it's up in the best mac I've ever had.

Not for nothing but the long lines is worth the wait.
I usually get myself a smoothie shake or natural pressed juice.
The staff is awesome. Everyone who wants to start eating healthier should put this castle in their list.

I've lived in Queens previously for over 12 years and never visited Veggie Castle. A friend of a friend recommended their Caribbean vegetarian dishes and I'm in love.
I needed a break from the holiday hangover food and was craving a vegetarian meal and fresh juice to start my day. Veggie Castle delivers ! I ordered on Uber Eats and they prepared my meal quickly and the presentation was excellent. They Saran wrapped all of my containers with precision. My food arrived perfect. I ordered a plantain, oats & sea moss porridge, a small ginger chick'n, chick peas and okra. It came with carrots and squash. I also ordered a Skin Moisture Juice with Apple, Pineapple and aloe. Everything was so delicious. When I'm in town again I will definitely order again. Fresh healthy food at a reasonable price.

Good vegetarian food. My husband said the impossible burger California style was really good. He swore it tasted like meat. The jerk "chicken" was good. The mac and "cheese" and the greens were the two things I disliked. The stew beef was ok but only after having it sit in the fridge for a day. As with meat substitutes it has to sit for the flavor to really saturate. The drumstick surprised me with the piece of stick inside it (acts as the bone) it made me chuckle. The food was a solid 4/5. The customer service is a 3/5 as with most restaurants they focus more on the food than the customer service. We need balance.
Oh one more thing, the price on the counter regarding the price of dessert was wrong. It said $5 for a regular slice of cake but I was charged $6. Watch your receipt.

First time here and the food was good. The texture of non-meat products will take some getting used to, but enjoyed the flavors and spices. I was excited about the ginger chicken, it was just okay. The ackee patty and fried quinoa were probably my favorite things. I may return for patties.

I had the sea moss smoothie 5/5
Thank God I couldn’t taste the sea moss because I’ve read that it has a fishy taste. This was delicious and refreshing and masked well with all the fruits.
I also ordered the vegan chicken sandwich. 4/5
I felt the chicken patty had a little jerk pull to it. The patty was thin and not like typical vegan chicken patty’s, but still good condiment portions inside.
The fries were delicious and necessary.
I caved and had a “treat yo self” moment and also had the carrot cake. 5/5
Very moist and decadent. Highly recommend if you don’t like dry cakes.

As a newly vegetarian I was so happy to finally eat veggie Caribbean food! Found out about this place through Instagram account “howtobeveganinthehood” (s/o!). I live too far away to eat here, but was lucky enough to be in the area due to work one time, so I had to shoot my shot and it was so worth it! I went all the way out with my UberEats pick up order! Wish I could order more often as I was super happy with the taste, structure, presentation and especially AMOUNT of the food! Hubby and I ate these 2 large meals for dinner for 3 days! So so worth it, go Veggie Castle!!!
