Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant

Food is tasty. Tried the chicken soup, avocado chicken wrap, root beer, chimi cheescake, and churros. Chicken soup was warm and comforting. Avocado chicken wrap was tasty but very wet. Root beer was root beer. Chimi cheescake and churros were delicious, but (obviously) sweet. Bathrooms are well decorated. Soap and sanitizer available. Beautiful sink. No touch paper towel dispenser.

I stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant during my stay at Love's gas station and I was pleasantly surprised. As a truck driver, I appreciated the convenient 10-15 minute walk from the gas station. I ended up dining there twice because the food was simply fantastic. The lunch special was a great option for vegetarians like me, offering delicious choices at a reasonable price. The al pastor tacos were an absolute highlight, bursting with flavor. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this place. It's easily the best Mexican food I've ever had, and that's saying something for someone who's always on the road.

Really surprised that the food here is so good. After 30 years in San Diego with all of its Mexican food, I have been surprised by the lack of it where I have lived in the Savannah area. But the food here is very good, reasonably priced, good chips and salsa, served up by nice, friendly personnel. I recommend it. The booths could use a bit of work here and there, and the kitchen could be a little bit less obvious. But still good food, and lots of it.
