The Fatty Shack

I was in town on business and stopped at Fatty Shack for lunch. I heard good reviews from other people in my business class, so I decided to try it out. The first issue, the man taking our order was in his pajamas which seemed a little odd and unprofessional. The second issue, was the same man came out and served our food and just dropped the plates on the counter; there was a little rush since it was lunchtime, so that was understandable. When my co worker and I thanked him for our food on 2 separate occasions and he just walked off. I went back to the counter, because they forgot to add cheese to my fries like I had asked when he took my order. Another gentleman took my plate and advised they would bring it out shortly, the man in the pajamas was upset that I took my plate back up and rolled his eyes. it took them about 10 minutes to throw what looked like 1 slice of cheese on the middle of the fries, melt it and bring it back out. The same man wearing pajamas, brought it back out and this time dropped it on the table and walked off. This by far was one of the worst customer service experiences i have ever had. Working as an officer, I've dealt with bad customers service, but nothing compares to this horrific experience.

I have visited in the past and enjoyed my meals and thought they were great for the price. That is why when a friend asked me where a good place to eat, I said Fatty Shack when she said she was heading to Kenner afterwards and taking the I-310 bridge was a viable option. But other than the Buffalo Wings, we were disappointed in our meals. For whatever reason they held up hers, waiting on mine which took a bit longer. As a result both of ours had cold mashed potatoes. Hers was just plain cold. Even the salad seemed as if frozen.

I called before going there today and they stated they were open and dine in was allowed. So my wife, son & myself walked up to the door after parking to find it locked. There are two team members inside both in their phones. We then proceed to knock at the window only for them to pretend not to hear or see us. I won't even waste my time again. This is bad customer service and ignorance at its best!

We ordered to go. The food is mediocre for the price. Nothing was impressive. The lady answering the phone was just a friend helping out so knew nothing of the menu. But she was sweet. Evidently the menu I found online was old and the prices we more now. We called and half the items on the menu were unavailable. They still offer those menu items but just didn't have it tonight or something. No burgers, steak, chicken, or roast beef. So we settled for what was available. When we got the food home, an order of fries were missing. Unless the popoys no longer come with fries and that's a rip for a $15 po-boy. The only compliment is that the people on the phone were very nice. And when they were out of everything we wanted, the lady asked if the kitchen if they could at least make the chicken tenders for my kids and they did. Don't think we'll be back.
