Worst experience at a Subway ever. Hella rude, picked up a phone call while taking my order. After checking reviews here I know it's not the first time. Maybe management should do something about that??

Update, because Subway is my favorite fast food restaurant and I'm really salty about this: I just used the same coupon to buy two of the sandwich they told me I couldn't use it on at a different Subway location.(it was a BOGO coupon) We literally just left at 6:13 on April 22, 22 The employee was on her phone the entire time taking our order, distracted to the point where she had to ask us to repeat items multiple times, and then told us we couldn't use our coupon on a sandwich that I've used the same coupon on before (we got a sheet of Subway coupons in the mail, didn't duplicate coupons) so we really just paid full price for terrible service 😭😭

The service absolutely suck at this Subways. They are very prejudice. As a person of color, I stood in line and waited for the cashier to take my order, but she skipped over me and took the order of the white male in back of me. They only cater to the white race at this location. I'll never visit this site again. As a twelve-year resident of Emeryville, I will not support any business that discriminates against anyone and provides lousy customer service, esp. to people in its own community.

If you order via online they will not make your sandwich until you get to the store. Seen this twice already. In addition, they are rude. Will throw an attitude when you present the Subway coupon. Will not go here again until they switch ownership.

I come here often , staff are always polite and pretty efficient. The location here does take coupons and national deals so not sure what the others are complaining about. The only downside to this place is that their ice machine is often not working.

Rude service...worst experience I have ever had anywhere....was actually yelled at by the employee when I tried to use their SMS coupon. I was so embarrassed and there were others in the store as well. I called the store manager and ended up getting the difference back in cash but only after having to take extra time to explain it..as the employee made sure to go in the back and call the manager on her personal cell phone before I ate and called her to complain. Only an employee in the wrong would run to the back and call a manager... to make sure she got her side of the story in first.. with a store full of customers waiting to be helped. Will never go back! Now I will need a new quick lunch spot for when I am in area for work once a month.

Yeah i know, it's subway. what do you expect for $4.99 or whatever their special is? I will take togo's or a mom and pop sandwich shop over subway any day, in fact, there's one across the street from this subway... but that's just me, and I save it for another review.. I decided to try this one out. Well, as for the quantity and quality of food I expected a bit more. they were extremely stingy on the cheese. like 2 or 3 of those tiny triangles, that equates to about a slice of real cheese from the store, but this is skim white American cheese. Not enough meat. Not enough (insert your item of choice here).. I do have a comment direct from Subway about this further down.. Way too much bread in their, uh, rolls. I should really preface this to say "I am not on a diet and don't need diet food, bleached bread, or GMO's to wreak havoc on my sexy bellyness..." but I digress, back to the review.. Everyone goes here because it's close and cheap, definitely about volume. Fill yourself with bread so you feel full, then you are like, dang, that took me awhile to eat but didn't really satisfy me? I think I figured out why people lose weight on subway. (ouch!) The people that work here are nice, it's not that. Yet, I don't go to lunch to visit people working behind the counter, I go for FOOD.. Hey wow, they do breakfast now. I am not going to try that, but did try a lunch special. 'nuff said. Alright then, I asked subway about the skimpy portions and this is what their customer service representative Manoj Tripathi said -- I quote from email: "This Subway location does offer 4 kinds of cheeses that are called out in the cling on the sneeze guard.." I like that, the plastic thing that prevents customers from reaching over the counter and piling on more meat or perhaps strangling people working on the other side.. it is.. a SNEEZE GUARD. "...and yes, two cheese triangles are the standard for every 6" sub. You of course, have the option of doubling (or tripling) the cheese as per the menu board for an added cost." That's 50 cents for 2-4 triangles of cheese, only the color is different. You can have white or orange thin slices, but they also have what looks like shredded Mexican cheese mix, like what you would melt inside a quesadilla. "...Every single meat portion is pre-determined based on the kind of sub, and we strictly adhere to it. Of course, the customer has the option of doubling the meat as called out in the double stack menu. Simply put, $1 will double the meat for a 6" and $2 will double the meat for a 12" [sub]. The veggie portions are also pre-determined by the Subway brand. However, upon specific customer request, we are able to accommodate some variation in this part of the sub.." Apparently, at no cost, you can pile this other stuff on as much as you want, basically tell them ala carte yes I want jalapenos, olives, oil and vinegar, no I don't want shredded iceberg lettuce, but oh that spinach looks tasty.. etc.. "...I would like to assure you that you get nearly identical portions in this location, as you would get in any other of the 28,000 Subway locations worldwide. A multitude of standards compliance & monitoring systems are already in place, that assure that each sub is delivered as "defined" as much as humanly possible. The "assemble per request" is in place with an eye towards "mass customization". Wow, now there's a marketing mouthful...so there you go, they are consistent. Great for kids who like that sort of thing, granted, like McDonald's, they love the stuff. So, I could ask them to pile on more stuff at cost, but really, the quality just isn't there, so it's probably a good thing they are skimpy. Sorry, no more stars for you..
