Mac's Speed Shop

We have visited Mac's a few times over the years and never had a bad experience there. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. Atmosphere varies on when you are visiting. We have been there on quiet days, game days, and beautiful NC weather days enjoying live music outside. They have a good beer selection as well!

Great ambiance and service and food was good. Outstanding beer list. Server, Maddie offered a great wing suggestion... The VTX wings had the perfect combination of sweet and heat. The wings were delicious.. slightly overcooked (a tad dry) but the flavor was spot on! The tacos were decent but overpriced.

It is unfortunate that I have to write this review. My family and I have becoming to this location for 8+ years. My kids love the wings and the chicken sandwich is by far the best in CLT. Today we met my mom and dad for lunch (in their 70's). This location now only has one side open for business, which I completely understand given the world we live in today and the labor environment. This was a challenge for us; only the "bar" side being open because my dad is in a wheelchair. There was nowhere for him to sit other than two small booths in a corner that are already tight before you even put a wheelchair at the end of the table. But again, I get it. What I do not have a tolerance for, is that I asked a waitress if it would be possible to sit on the other side since my dad is in a wheelchair and there is nowhere suitable for us, or them, for him to sit. As she walked away from me she said, this side is closed, I can't help you. I am not asking for a lot, I get the world we live in today. But to me it is simple, if you cannot respect a handicapped veteran in a wheelchair to make some type of accommodation when your current space is not suitable for handicapped people, I can no longer support your business. I will miss going to Mac's, on principle I cannot support a restaurant that does not treat it's customers with respect, maybe it is time to consider your patronage as well.

Giving 5 stars due to my incredible server, Maddie. She anticipated our needs like a pro, tenured server and I was never left with an empty beverage. Her energy was so contagious, our whole table had an incredible time in her company. Definitely recommend Macs for a great laid back time with good food and drinks and of course the best server in the area.

This is only our third time ordering from this location. The first time we were missing stuff that was supposed to be on the sandwich and nachos. The second time was fine. This third time I got transferred twice before someone took my order. The guy asked me what I wanted and when I started to tell him he told me to hold on. Then he said to proceed. Our order wasn't even correct as we were missing another chicken sandwich combo with fries. The guy even repeated back my order, so I am not understanding how they missed an entire meal for a second person. We wont be returning to this location as it is always a headache.
