El Toro

The amount of food they serve you is ridiculous!! 💛 I ordered Molcajete. It’s like fajitas in a bowl. AMAZING!! I couldn’t stop eating! I’ll have leftovers for days. They also have a food truck we hit up at the Taco Fest in Royal Oak. Just as good and the tacos are over stuffed with goodness. Same amazing taste!! Can’t wait to go back.

Great Mexican food! Service is fast and place was clean. Wait staff constantly checks to makes sure you don't need anything else. I love to munch on the chips and salsa while we wait for our food. They have hot sauces on the side to spice it up if you need. I love the fajitas here! They include a side of refried beans, lettuce,, etc.. just look at the picture.. They also have different flavors of Mexican pop. I tried the pineapple. It was good.

This place has some seriously delicious queso! I've gotten take out a few times and loved it. I dined in recently, I like the atmosphere and the food, and I like that they serve beer by the pitcher if you have a larger group. The service could be better. Our waiter did not come check on us to see if we wanted refills for drinks, more chips and salsa, any extra condiments with the meal. The Small things make a big difference. Many of the tacos are double-wrapped in corn tortillas, I find this to be a bit too much and it takes away from the flavor of the taco interior for me. I would go back for sure though.

I wanted to try a new Mexican restaurant, so after looking at the menus of a couple of new places, I decided on El Torro. The menu looked delicious and I was looking forward to some authentic Mexican food. First off, the restaurant was nice, decoration and ambiance wise. However, our server, a middle-aged woman with a long ponytail, had a very sour attitude right off the bat. She was not friendly at all and seemed like she wanted to get us out of there as fast as possible. If I asked her for something she acted as if I was bothering her. We ordered the jalapeno poppers as an appetizer, which were very tasty, although the little spat of guacamole on a pile of lettuce was pathetic. I ordered the enchiladas supreme with a side of rice and beans. The enchiladas were swimming in a platter full of nasty red sauce and the cheese they used to top them tasted artificial. The side of rice and beans were bland and not complementary to the enchiladas whatsoever. I fished the enchiladas out of the red sauce soup and took them home, but ended up throwing everything out as it was even nastier tasting after being warmed up. A very disappointing experience. I will not be back, especially with the sourpuss service I encountered.
