What a great ambience and modern aesthetic atmosphere for a group or a date with your special person. Today I ordered the Chicken Tawouk Plate which consisted of two perfectly tender chicken skewers that had been marinated with lemon and served on top of a good portion of rice. The plate includes a salad so I chose the Hamwi salad which is a mix of carefully diced tomato, green pepper, parsley all dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. This perfectly complements the marinated chicken tawouk. The restaurant uses high quality silverware and heavy plates that resemble fine-luxury dining at an affordable price. The cleanliness and smell of the store is 10/10 as if it had just had its grand opening, which is was very impressive. I would highly recommend this halal meat or vegetarian salad combination to anyone that is in Waterloo and is looking to be impressed by a restaurant and be perfectly satisfied with what they chose to pay for (quantity and quality 10/10). Best food ever. Order it once, loved it and the next day I went there again for dine-in. Would definitely come back. Everything about the dish, the place and the people is just perfect. I love falafel and this is the best falafel I have tried so far. The chicken is so fresh and perfectly cooked. Ordered the lunch special with chicken + extra falafel. Will visit again when I am back in Waterloo.

Visited this place yesterday, the food is really delicious and tasty. We ordered Arabic-Style Shawarma and Chicken Tawouk - both of them are pretty good and grilled properly inside out. It gives you a nice smokey taste. Tried Falafel bites, too - I have not tried any good falafels then this place has. If you are a shawarma lover and would like to try out a good place; I would recommend to go and visit this restaurant. The staff was so good and humble to you. Will visit this place soon.

This restaurant impressed me from the moment I walked in the door. It’s spacious and clean, with tasteful decor. There is plenty of seating, including a long table for a larger group, and a bar height table with 5 chairs. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful, even suggesting I order a combo plate to save money. I ordered a plate of chicken shawarma with rice, and a fatoush salad. I started with the fatoush. It was easily the best fatoush I’ve had in years. It was fresh, the flavours were incredible, and the presentation was excellent. The portions were extremely generous. I was full after only eating the fatoush. The rice was so flavourful, and the chicken was outstanding. The hummus and garlic sauce were equally amazing. It’s obvious that Mashawi’s takes great pride in their food, and deservedly so. The service was also impressive, but not at all intrusive. Everything was perfect, but considering the attention I was given after having been served, I have no doubt that had anything required attention, it would’ve been resolved with efficiency and courtesy. I ended up packing half of my meal as take out, so I will be able to enjoy eating the leftovers at home. I even received a complimentary tea to finish my meal. Don’t miss out...this is the best Shawarma restaurant I’ve ever found in any city (including Ottawa and Montreal). Apologies for the photo of the meal. Absolutely loved the food, it was amazing. Plus a definite 6 star on the Customer Service. Originally, there are 5 pieces in the platter, but they gave us 6. Also, my wife wanted to order the Lentil Soup later, and she actually got it for free! About the food, I highly believe that this was one of the best wraps I had in Waterloo, the bread was very fresh. The fries were awesome, crispy at the outside and moist in the inside. We got to taste 2 different kinds of Salads which was also the courtesy of great customer service. Its surely a go-again restaurant for me.
