Skipper John's

When I called in my order, the girl on the phone sounded really rude and I could barely hear her. But when I arrived to the place I understood why. They definitely are busy and need to hire more staff. They also need a bigger place to work out of because this place has some amazing food. Loved the gizzards, chicken, fried okra, and fried pickles. I wish they offered country white gravy with their gizzards or mash potatoes but still amazing. I highly recommend. It’s worth the wait.

This is hometown food at it's core! Great southern fried chicken seasoned to perfection. The fries are good, but you go here for the chicken and they do a great job. Ask anyone in Perry where to get the best fried chicken and they will say Skipper John's. Not interested in chicken? You might try the fried fish.

My second visit. Service is on the slower side so order in advance. Hot sauce $0.31 per small cup... and I don't eat tartar sauce. Locals love this place so be prepared for a wait. Update... absolutely love this place... the catfish and that fried chicken is heaven sent. I am sensitive to greasy food but I have no issues eating here. I think it is due to the clean grease. Either way I am a huge fan and make a stop EVERYTIME I am in Perry. Must visit.

This is a small, take-out only place for fried chicken and fish with you typical sides of fries, coleslaw, etc. An associate raved about the chicken, saying that it was the best around. I was in the area and decided to try the chicken. The chicken was good, but I was most impressed by the the crunchiness of the skin of the chicken. Chicken was tasty with their special seasoning. I thought that is was pricey, a little. All in all, I'd purchase again.

This has been my favorite chicken place since I was a child but yesterday really ruined that for me. I called about 1105 to order chicken for my husband's birthday and the person who answered phone rudely said we are not open and hang up. I thought maybe I was mistaken about opening time,checked website and saw that they should have been open. So I waited to 1130 and called back. This time they picked up and just hang up phone. I am surprised at this level of customer service sope that it is not something that will continue.i don't feel the owners knew about this.
