Fish Hopper

The fish shopper in Kona, Hawaii is one of my favorite restaurants to visit when I’m in that area. When I came across this Fish Hopper on Cannery Row in Monterey, I found out It was associated with the Kona store. It was an unusually light crowds, so there was no waiting to be seated. From the hostess to the wait staff, everybody was professional, and friendly. Seated out on the deck, I had an amazing view of the waves crashing over the rocks on the beach below. In addition, the bay provides spectacular viewing. The menu is pretty extensive, but I went with the bread bowl clam chowder. Just like in Kona it was thick and creamy and most of all filling. The hostess was anxious to see if I thought their clam chowder was as good as Kona. I would say it’s a tossup, because you just can’t get enough of it.

Being a local this is definitely our go to place when family and friends come into town. It’s such an experience to remember having a beautiful dinner by the water and the incredible marine view with all its local boating and critters to entertain you. But the food!!! If you’re a foodie, this is a must try.

I recently dined at the Fish Hopper, and it was an exceptional seafood experience. The restaurant's coastal ambiance and oceanfront view set the stage for a memorable meal. The combination of fresh, well-prepared dishes, a stunning view, and excellent service makes it a top choice for a seafood dining experience. The service was attentive, and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu. I also appreciated the extensive wine list. Overall, the Fish Hopper is a must-visit for seafood lovers.

We got a corner table and had a gorgeous view. The lights are jellyfish. Staff was amazing and got great service. Started off with a jumbo cocktail shrimp. Was fresh. So this review is for my food. We have eaten here before and I ate crab last time. It was delicious. This time, I got the half lobster. The rice was so delicious. Now, the lobster tail was tough and very chewy. Ended up not being able to eat it. The only thing good was the claw,the scallionsand the rice. It's just basically crab salad on top. Wasn't worth the 70 bucks. Now the food my table had was amazing. I tried the Mahi Mahi. Delicious and amazing. The ultimate seafood was really good, too, and good portions. We will be back, but I'll probably order something else. It's best to go when certain crab is in season.

One of the only restaurants on cannery row that I could find take out from a limited outdoor menu. With many delicious items on offer, I was surprised to find grilled salmon with rice and vegetables as an option. Even more surprising was it was delicious. While the indoor dining looked delicious with a beautiful ocean view, time for the ride to the airport was running short. This allowed for a delicious meal in less than 15 minutes prep time and time for eating with a view of the beach without a long time commitment. If their “real” meals are anything like their outdoor quick kitchen I highly recommend trying them out.

Our family visited this place for lunch and had a great experience. The view was stunning, and the food was delicious. The service was 10/10, and our server was very attentive and kind. We splurged and got the Platter for two entrees. It was delicious. It does come with an excellent variety for the price. The stuffed crab mushrooms are a must. The Spicy Shrimp Scampi & Pasta Isabella were also tasty.

We had seen the restaurant but hadn’t visited until this trip. We got there at about 5pm on Friday and were taken right to a table overlooking the beach and shore. Our food was excellent as you can see from the pictures. I had the spicy prawn pasta, my wife had the seafood linguine and her mom had the Parmesan crusted chicken and all were fantastic. Toward the end we also had a visitor..
