Hy-vee

We went in specifically for some fruit and yogurt. We got the fruit we needed, but not the large tub of yogurt as they were out of stock. This normally would be cause for a lower star rating, but this location consistently is in stock of all we need, and so am giving the benefit of the doubt. We enjoy this location!

The Hyvee in Brookings is clean and usually has the sale prices. With the way everything has been with Covid they are trying their best to keep up. I feel they were one of the first stores in the area to set up to make things more sanitized and safe. They clean the regular and self check outs after every person to help keep is sanitized. Their produce is usually really great too. They do require masks and have someone inside handing them out of needed. They suggest following arrows to go up and down the aisles which can be a bit of a pain since I don't always need something from every aisle. They are always stocking shelves when I am there so today for instance you couldn't really move around by the frozen and yogurt milk section easily. Sale items can go fast. There were a few things on my list they didn't have and it didn't seem like they had a big area for it. So, if you want something on a 2 day sale or even for the week that may be popular, you should go the morning it starts. I have had both friendly staff and not so friendly. The store is located at the end of a strip mall with a bunch of businesses and the parking lot gets very congested and needs some work done to it. There is also a Hyvee gas station located in the parking lot where the store and strip mall is.

I am unimpressed with hyvee these days. Moving things around all the time and adding a section for water bottles instead of adding more grocery items?? Ridiculous. I would love a wider grocery selection, instead this corporation reorganizes, forcing us to walk down all the aisles and end up purchasing more. I can’t wait until this town gets our co-op.
