Chicken Coop

These don't exist where I live anymore so a few years ago I was skiing and drove past it and had to turn around and get some. It was as good as I remember and I hadn't had some Chicken Coop in 15 years. It had been 2 years since then and we were going to be in the area and decided to stop in. Worth every penny without a doubt. The best fried chicken I've had since the last time I was there. If this franchise would ever decide to come back to Elkhart many people would greatly appreciate it. The staff was very friendly and I would gladly stop in again if I happen to be in the area again.

A quick lunch stop at the Plainwell location because we had a coupon and WOAH - my life will never be the same. It may be simple, but they know how to fry chicken and fish like nobodies business. The fish fillets were thick and hot; just the right amount of batter hugging meaty deliciousness. The chicken strips were tender and juicy. Mac and cheese was perfectly basic. And the sweet potato fries were crisp and hot. Fast food cooked to order, brought to your table hot and fresh.. life doesn't get much better. Next time I need comfort food there will be no question about where to go because, man - do those geniuses at Chicken Coop know the way to my heart.

On Friday nights they have all you can eat fish and it is amazing we love it! But any night, chicken and/or fish is always wonderful! All the sides are real good and seem to be nice and fresh. I really love their coleslaw!!! Oh my gosh,,, now that's just what the right thing to always hit the spot! My husband loves their gravy, I even have to admit, it is!

Chicken Coop in Plainwell is absolutely amazing! GREAT prices and EXCELLENT food and customer service. Also, VERY MUCH CLEAN! Even their bathrooms are kept spotless clean as they clean them 1/hr. They make sure that EVERYTHING is kept in stock and looking nice. I would give their customer service and their PRIDE in their job. When I went in to sit down to eat, as the 3 of us that went are handicap, the operating manager was SO KIND and instead of calling out our name n order #, he actually brought our food out to us and asked if he could refill our cups at no extra charge or if he could get us ANYTHING else... NOW, Ik that's NOT common practice for the average customer, but I was very pleased to receive such a wonderful experience. I find Chicken Coop, which is actually kind of diagonal from KFC, to have the home cooked meal taste, textures, feel, atmosphere and BEST OF ALL, I believe that it's SO INCREDIBLY MUCH MORE DELICIOUS than ANY of the other restaurants that serve chicken and fish and sides, drinks, desserts and so much more. And they don't shoot their food supply up with a bunch of steroids to make sure that they grow faster in order to keep up with demand. I would call this place a nice, quiet, relaxing and personally private restaurant. THEE ONLY BAD thing I have to say about them is that their bathrooms are outside and around the corner of the building right by the drive through. BUT still, if we want to eat out for chicken or fish, etc, then we ALWAYS go here. I basically started protesting against KFC when I found out that they drug their live stock with a steroid enhancement booster injections and Idk any1 else that still eats there. BUT it's definitely a 10 stars rating kind of place to me... a wonderful "mom'n'pop shop" right on our HUGEST "mall/food/shopping and much much more" strip of rd on a MAJOR hwy.
