L & S Mexican Restaurant

I gave it three stars for having puffy tacos. Not always easy to find puffies. Men’s restroom very rough and stinky. Decor is quite gawdy. Ripped seat covers, tacky, zero ambiance. Needs a makeover. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. So the waitress and puffy tacos lift it up from a two star review. Anyone who gives this five stars leads a very sheltered life.

Should have read the reviews before dining it but since covid is happening and there is little Open, we just went for it. Walked in and two young men at the counter appeared stand-off ish and not welcoming. Seemed as if they didn’t want us to dine in. When I asked If dine In was an option, they asked how many in my party before stating yes. We picked out our own table.. Tables and booths were of all different styles. Chairs and booth seats ripped to shreds. Tables wobble. So we moved to what seemed like the best booth. I over looked that bcuz a lot of little dives can have great food anyways. We were asked if we wanted chips and salsa and we said yes, he brings out 1/3 of a basket full for 4 people. Mostly burnt chips were served. When everyone’s food arrives, I must say the portion size were more like from a child’s menu. I ordered the deluxe nachos. I literally had 5 chips on my plate which consisted of two pieces of fajita meat a spoonful of beans, a couple shreds of lettuce and some old guacamole. After eating one chip served on a plate that was the size of a medium saucer, One you’d put under a bowl of soup, I realized that I needed to mention I had little food for the $12. I stated I’d have both chicken and steak and the kid mentioned a dollar up charge. I said no problem. Literally like 5 chips and two tiny pieces of meat. Everyone else’s plates were what appeared to be more of a normal portion but still on the smaller side. I walked up to the counter, and explained the the kid what the issue was and he said that can’t be right. There are more than 5 chips on your plate and just stood there. No apologies, no, “let me see what you were served” and just basically threw his hands up like idk what to tell you. This place needs to be shut down. Needs a deep clean and make over. Idk where the head manager was. Didn’t appear to have anyone. I just paid the bill and left. I would choose something else if ever in town. Never again. I must say the kid that helped serve our table did a good job but could tell he was brand new. He did try to be accommodating but he was very nervous. Never refilled our drinks, never cleared any plates or trash from our table. And only came back to the table one time since ordering, only after I mentioned the above info. Y’all have to do better.
