Rockhouse On The River

I'm shocked this place has a 4.6 rating! My experience goes from bad to worse. The pepper shaker on the table had some kind of funk on it (not clean). My wife ask for a glass for her beer, the chilled glass revealed finger prints inside AND lip prints around the rim! (I wonder what mine looked like before the beer was poured in). Then the food comes out. The bone in chicken wings were VERY fatty. I picked them apart and got enough meat from 6pcs to fill a shot glass. I gave the plate of fat and bones to the server and told her to tell management that was pathetic. As for the pizza, (since the wings provided nothing for hunger) I ate a piece. I've had better pizza from kroger (I'm serious). By the time we finished a slice of pizza and our beers, no one from management came out to see us. We had been to the Rockhouse a few times before at their old location. My wife liked it but I always found it mediocre. Be assured, this is the last time they will ever get my money!

We ordered a medium All Meat pizza. The server brought us a Supreme. We made her aware of the mistake and she immediately put the correct pizza order in. A bit later, she came back to check on us and to apologize again. I told her it was no big deal, and I joked that the other pizza looked so good that I wished I could have tried a slice. When our All Meat pizza came out, she also brought out the Supreme in a box for us to take home for free. Both were delicious! Plus, the outdoor patio was so nice.

I have waited to write this, because we always go to the one in Robards. The times that we have gone downtown to the one on the river and ordered the Stromboli it seemed like they just weren’t getting it right. Sometimes the dough was way too thick on the ends. It’s still tasted good, it just was not the same as the original. Well this time they got it right. So maybe someone has said something or the training has paid off. The flavor has been similar and is finally to the point where it taste the same as the original, and they’re actually fill the Stromboli the way the one in Robards does. The pizza is consistent, and has a great flavor. But if you find yourself going to Rockhouse, do yourself a favor and order the Stromboli the original to be exact. You will not be upset.

Firstly, let me start this off by saying the staff was extremely friendly and really made the experience great! My waitress was incredibly kind and when I let her know I was in from out of town she sat down for a minute and wrote out some great places around town for me to try. As for the food, the stromboli was delicious and was reason enough to return. The pizza was tasty as well, so you can't really go wrong. Overall, I'd say this was a great place and I'd definitely come back!
