Taco John's

Used to love this place. Still love the ppl that work here but if the owner's in store DO NOT eat here! We were told not to change our gloves after doing different tasks cuz we were short handed. Many many health code violations! Was also cussed at in front of customers by the owner! Wouldn't recommend!

I tried it out because I am new to the area. It was disappointing. I ordered the Street Taco Trio combo. The tacos were small, they had very little meat and lacked flavor. The combo came with a side of tater tots. It seemed out of place since that isn't a normal addition to tacos. Overall: Disapointed

I'm only giving this place 4 stars because of the service we had on our visit on 12/13. First time trying TJs and what drew us in was the banner outside for a "6pack and a Pound". Ok so let's see what this is all about. When we asked what the "pound" part of this deal was, we had no idea what an Olé was. The server tried to explain, but we weren't getting it. So she made us up a little sampler of them. Delicious! Ok so we said we'll have 2 of those. She was surprised that we both ordered one, but said she's seen others putting 20 tacos in a sitting. She then rang us up and gave us the discount of an available coupon she had. This is where my 4 stars ended. The tacos were, well, kind of a mess. It's really not a taco, but rather somewhere between a taco and chili. Very wet ground beef in a sauce of sorts. My frien had soft shell,and I had the crunchy. We managed to finish those off but only because we were starving. That last taco was tough to get down but not because volume of food but rather because by then they were disgusting. We even put a dent in the Olés. As we stuffed our faces, the staff was busy cleaning and wiping down the tables. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Everything was clean and disinfected. Social distancing protocols were in full effect. Staff was courteous and pleasant, but food was another story. It takes a lot for me to give 4 stars to a place where the food was just "meh", but I will give out stars as a reward for great service.

I recently went to taco John’s and I was placing my order and the guy taking my order was very polite anything I said I wanted he was like great choice and when I got to the window he was just so nice it was weird because most people aren’t that nice and talkative he works at the Clinton Iowa taco John’s and his name is Matt and he rocks! We need more people like him
