Shoney's

To start off I had high hopes and it looked like a wonderful establishment. The poorly plowed parking lot should have been a good indicator of their quality. You walk in and the actual buffet area is tiny and whenever you are needing food it's a wait because there is only one little table with food on it. Once you get the food it's poor quality; the same stuff you probably got in school growing up. Terrible place... Save the dental bill and don't try any of their cinnamon rolls (aka hockey pucks). Their coffee is atrocious. It feels like a sin paying the most for this than I have any other meal while on my vacation to Branson. I have added a picture of their entire breakfast buffet not including the sad looking salad.

It has been years since I personally worked at a Shoney's or visited this location. This was the 1st experience for my kid's that were either too young to remember or wasn't even born yet. It was great to see the buffet open and the smile on my kid's faces when they saw the buffet. I was able to show them the meal I prepared for myself every morning prior to cooking items or the buffet or made to order. Whenever you're able to feed kids including a picky eater like my oldest daughter and everyone still remains happy, you know the place you chose was a wise choice. A lot of places claim to have the best breakfast in town, but I personally prefer Shoney's any day over them and where we'll be the next time we're in the area.

Breakfast buffet seemed to be the only option. I probably would have picked it anyways, but if you are looking for a menu, we were not offered one and didn't see anyone else with one. The food was ok. Typical bulk made. Scrambled were the only egg option and they were 100% from powder. Biscuits and coffee were good.

If you cringe from hair in your food then this is not the place to eat. Hair nets are a thing and they need to learn this. Everything had hair in it. Everything! Different colors of hair so it wasn't a one person issue. Also there was no warm food at all. We were there at 8:30am and everything was cold or room temperature. The price could be a lot lower if they would cut down on food waste by keeping hair out and food warm. I'm still giving a decent star review because I appreciate anywhere that still does a buffet and staff was friendly.

Our family had breakfast here on our last morning in Branson. The store was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was tasty. The reason for 4 stars instead of five was some of the food on the breakfast bar was overcooked and therefore dry and hard to swallow. Waffles, pancakes, biscuits and ham. Everything else was very good. Good prices too.
