Avalon Grille

This is the best restaurant in all of Avalon. Every single dish we had was absolutely phenomenal. Starting with the fig & burrata salad, I was so impressed by the extra length they went to caramelize the figs. The burrata also tasted so fresh and cold, just the way I like it. The elote corn ribs had the right amount of each ingredient. It wasn’t overpowered by the cheese which usually can be the case when you order elote. I absolutely loved the chipotle aioli they used for this dish. Worked so well with the corn. The grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. I’ve been to restaurants where it was overdone and so the octopus was a little chewy. The chefs here cooked it flawlessly. If you’re a fan of octopus, I guarantee this will make the top of your list. The wagyu burger was very good and the ground beef was very juicy and flavorful. The absolute star of the night was definitely the peach tartlet. I’m not even a big dessert guy, but this blew my socks off. I have never had a better pastry/tartlet in my life. The crust was baked perfectly and had brown sugar coated around the outside. The peaches tasted so fresh and delicious. Mixing this with the scoop of Vanilla Bourbon Gelato was a fantastic combo. It was so good, we came back the next night to get it again. I HIGHLY recommend getting this dessert no matter what. I have officially found the restaurant I plan to come to the rest of my life when I visit the island. Could not recommend this place more. You will not be disappointed

Friendly, relaxed yet attentive service from the moment you walk in. It has a bit of sports bar feel to it with the big TVs and the large bar in the middle, but thankfully the noise level does not reflect that. Every table was taken by 6.30pm and yet you could have a conversation without yelling. The food was amazing. Both the Ahi Tuna Tartare and the Grilled Octopus were spectacular. The steak frites with the crispy potato nest was grilled to perfection. Our server was Jimmy, who made the visit extra special. His food and drink recommendations were spot on and he patiently answered all our questions about the menu as well as general questions about Catalina and what to see. Makes you feel so welcome. Give this guy a raise! :) Ended a fantastic dinner with gelatos and sorbets and some port, a perfect evening. If you are in town, you cannot go wrong with the Avalon Grille. Can't wait to our next visit.

had dinner here around 8/9 since most of the restaurants close early there was the many options besides this one but luckily it turned out to be a great restaurant. the employees are great and the waiter we had was super smiley and nice. there aren’t that many food options but the ambiance is really great and so are the desserts!! i had their bourbon vanilla gelato which was exquisite!

Easy fast seating for a party of one. I sat at the bar. I highly recommend getting the buffalo milk drink. It knocked me out and looked like a milkshake but its amazing. The older gentlemen with the mustache is highly knowledgable about his drinks and can whip up any drink your little heart desires. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the asiago cheese polenta and roasted carrots were amazing. So far this is my favorite spot to eat on the island. The peach dessert is out of this world to. Total bill was $90

Spending 2 nights here in Catalina island. The first night we decided to stop by and eat dinner at Avalon Grille. Their popcorn that they bring out for free is amazing !!! So delicious 😋 The coconut shrimp small plate is mouth watering as well. We had to order 2. Can’t go wrong with their new york steak with Mac and cheese. It paired on So well. Also you have to try their guava cheesecake. Man! Talking about all this is literally making my mouth water and we just finished eating there 3 hours ago. I’ll have to tell my wife for us to stop by again before heading off the island.
