Update 12.28.2023
I visited this place for the first time in four years, and it appears to be under new ownership. Notably, the prices have increased, and the thali is noticeably smaller compared to my previous experiences.
Upon tasting the food, it became apparent that the recipes have also undergone changes. Unfortunately, this is no longer my favorite spot. Despite my initial disappointment, as the meal progressed, I found myself appreciating the overall taste; it was still quite good. Surprisingly, the puris were even better than before.
While it may not rank as high on my list as it once did, I believe it's still worth including in my dining rotation. I would rate it 3.5, rounded up.
Prior review:
My favorite weekend Thali! Get the puri. I've had plenty of Indian vegetarian food in Austin during the past few years and I'll still vouch for these guys every time unless quality and taste drops. Sure, the presentation is not as nice as some other places...food is still served in weird plastic-y plates. Do I wish they used real plates? Off course! But at the end of the day, it's the food that I care most about and it just can't be beat.

Loved their veg grilled sandwich, tea and samosa chaat. Seems like an underrated place, even though saw some negative reviews.
The atmosphere can be upgraded to attract and retain more customers for sure. Dine in experience is equally important to the food quality.
But from food perspective, loved it!

In the mood for authentic South Indian Street food? This is the place. They have a wide variety of items on the menu to choose from. Tired the samosa chaat, maysori dosa , pani puri and vada pav. The food was a tad spicy .. but that's just me. The staff was super helpful and friendly, assisted in choosing out items from the menu as well.

Over half the menu was vegan which was why I went to try it. I’m Hispanic and don’t know anyyything about Indian food but I randomly picked two menu items (Aloo Tikki Chaat and Masala Dosa) and they were amazing!! Sooo full of flavor and filling. On a new mission to try all the vegan items now.

Best authentic vegetarian Indian food you could find in Austin, don’t you miss to try their chaat because they have everything you wish to taste.

When id gone the first time I was so happy to know that Austin has a good Indian restaurant that offers true Indian taste. In between it was sad to see that the quality had declined. I visited it today and I was happy to see that it's back in form. Good service. Amazing tea. Good to see brown sugar at the side 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙂

There are only few places in austin where you see Dabeli and kachori and some of the rare items on the menu. This place is one of them. We got Dabeli, khasta kachori and pav bhaji. All 3 were delicious. I got take out and it was ready within 15 minutes of order over the phone - so quick service. Khasta kachori had yogurt and chutney packed separately so it wasn’t soggy even after half an hour of travel. It was full with sprouts so unique. Dabeli also came with sweet and sour chutney. And pav bhaji was good as well. Food was a bit spicy for us but it was good to have that kick instead of having some bland tasting food. Wanted to try their sandwiches as well but during that time - sandwich machine was not working and it was broken or something so probably will try next time when we visit again.

Place was neat and clean. Service was with a smile. We had brunch and ordered for 5 people. Food tasted fresh. Aaloo parathas were great and I made sure that it was with whole wheat aata and not maida. The owner confirmed that they use whole wheat for parathas and pooris and that is why they don't serve Bhatura but serve pooris instead. The food in the thali was great and fresh tasting, not too full of spices and not too spicy hot. Masala Chai and aaloo Tikki chat were also very tasty.
Owner was friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience. Will definitely visit again.
