Denny's

Excellent service! I was very impressed by the friendly and polite staff! The person who took my order was smiling and made me feel comfortable as a customer! And the food was great, 🔥 HOT and plenty to eat! I hope to be going back soon despite the "staffing shortage situation" as indicated by the sign as you enter. Just be prepared to be patient!

On arrival it was super packed - Sunday afternoon, to be expected- right off the host let us know it would be a wait for us to get food but could go ahead and get us a seat - the waitress was amazing! She came and got our drinks and order very quickly and apologized that there would be a wait - we told her it was fine that we understood- she continued to check on us and refill drinks while we waited - it was about 45 min wait for our food but worth it - everything came out correctly and hot - very happy with the service even though there was a wait - great job !

Prices reflect the change in our economy but it is a nice restaurant with an excellent choice of entrees, please have patience until people begin going back to work, I believe they need more staff, but the nice lady who took our order and brought our 5 different meals remained calm and pleasant the entire time. Thank you Denny's staff, we appreciate you.

Food was good but not so much the service. They're short-handed, like most places, but I got the feeling our waitress flat out forgot she had customers. My husband had to go find her to get the check after waiting 10 minutes after we finished eating. I don't think she came around for 20 minutes before he went to get her.

3:00 in the afternoon. with only three tables when we arrived and it took us an hour and 15 minutesl for our lunch We did not get all of our order. It might have been faster if the waitress had spent less time flirting with the cook and talking with the waitress that was leaving. We got there about 15 minutes before shift change so the cook just talked with the waitress until the next cook arrived 15 minutes later. The waitress gave us a 15 % discount since we didn't get all our order. Poor, poor service.

I know what you are thinking, who would give 5 stars to a Denny’s?! Well let me tell you, we’ve eaten at this one in Shawnee many times and the food is always cooked fresh and tastes delicious. My wife always gets the Pancakes with eggs, hash browns and bacon. Todays meal was exceptional, the cinnamon pancakes were perfect and had some nice caramelized crispiness. They give military discounts and the manager has been there a long time and he runs a tight ship. If you’re traveling through Shawnee and are trying to decide where to stop to eat go here. They also have much more on the menu than breakfast and have never been disappointed.
