I’ve been coming here for a while and really enjoy the whole experience. The staff is always great, Marc Heu pastry (best pastries in the cities), and obviously good coffee. They have a good selection of brew gear as well. If you’re looking to buy beans they have a great selection, but my only critique would be that most roasts run darker than advertised.

The folks behind the counter are always delightful and the coffee is great. It's nice to have the option to sit outside in warmer weather. Inside space is metro-chic clean and not too big not too small.

This place is adorable! The man working did an awesome job explaining drinks. The signs and information about the coffee around the shop are super informative and eye-catching. A cute little shop! 10/10 will be returning.

Great coffee: had a delightful cortado and the small batch cold brew, both executed very well. Awesome space with friendly staff and a surprisingly good selection of coffee wares, including kelita waves and stagg kettles. Also have solid outdoor seating.

This place most likely serves the best cup of coffee in the twin cities. There are only a few places I would by my coffee from, and roots is one of them. Friendly staff, and amazing baristas.

The best Iced Mocha I have ever had and I am not being hyperbolic the perfect balance between the bitter coffee flavor and the sweet mocha flavoring.

The espresso was excellent. They noticed that it was not pulling right and adjusted it. That shows a real passion for quality.

Pete owns a small chill coffee place that roasts beans on-site. We had a great conversation about roasting coffee beans and how he landed in the business of saving souls in the morning, while the Daptones were playing through the speakers.
Pete said, "I brew coffee here that you can brew at home." He doesn't brew coffee or create espresso drinks via high-end appliances, because people don't have them at home. Pete creates liquid black magic with a smile using standard coffee machines.
The dude is a roasting magician, go say hi.
