Wine Unearthed

Booking easy. The event was exceptionally good. I bought this experience for my husband and 2 friends (lots of turning 60 this year) we all enjoyed it very much. Relaxed, informative, good fun and we all felt we came away knowing a lot more about wine. We will most likely attend another event in the future. Adrian was a great host.

Adrian did a great job of keeping the day up tempo and we were treated to a large number of fine wines, with contrasting styles and characteristics. We both learned some new things and it challenged our preconceptions about particular grapes or regions. White wine paired with hard cheese is one example we will be following up. The venue was great and despite the amount of alcohol consumed the whole day flew by! Highly recommended especially if you can get Adrian with his knowledge and enthusiasm.

Had a great introduction to wine tasting at the Old World Wine workshop in the Midland Hotel Manchester on the 3rd September 2016. Adrian our host and wine expert form the day was really good and not only new his wines he also new how to really impart his knowledge. The day was fun and interesting and really opened my eyes to various aspect of wine tasting I wasn't aware of. Everyone was made welcome and put at ease and with 14 wines to try the day got better as it went on. I would recommend anyone to try out one of these workshops. Noreen - St. Helens

Attended the World of Wine session on the 30th July. The day was really informative and engaging and our host Adrian was very knowledgeable and kept the session enjoyable for all, even those of us who knew nothing at all about wine at the beginning! You will come away knowing plenty and most importantly, being able to check if a wine is corked properly without having to pretend to know what you are doing!! Would definitely recommend for anyone. what a fantastic day I had at the Midland Hotel 25th June on the tasting course, I found it very informative and well presented and any questions asked was made to make you feel at ease, also Adrian had a good sense of humour which is always appreciated when on a course. the wines tasted was a very good selection being a Shiraz drinker this course has opened my eyes on other reds, a bottle of Pinot Noir already bought and waiting to be tasked at week end ! I would highly recommend to friends and family and makes an ideal present and if you advise on the time of the booking you get a nice card with a greeting. We had a fantastic day at the wine tasting. It was really fun and very informative. The selection of wines was excellent.We enjoy drinking wine, so it was nice to try lots of different ones to see which ones we liked and why. The Midland is a gorgeous hotel and it was nice to spend the day there. The other people at the tasting day were similar to us and had been bought the day as a gift. There was no snobbery, just normal people wanting to know more about wine. Adrian's knowledge was fantastic and we learned a lot throughout the day. We'll certainly be attending another event.

We have been on a couple of different sorts of wine tasting events in the past and we were bought this as a Christmas pressie so expectations were not very high. The location was superb, the hotel is a lovely venue easy to find and all the facilities you want. We arrived early and put pressure on Adrian to get ready but he didn't let that put him off and he made us all feel very welcome. The the fun started and it is just that - entertaining, informative, engaging and fun. Adrian was extremely funny and knowledgeable, able to answer all of the questions even if there came from left field. We came away having learned a lot and then were brave enough to use our newly found knowledge We are planning to take another course in the near future and will be coming back to this team If you want to learn more about wine, are worried about the mystery and snobbery around the subject or worried that you wont be able to smell the leather or the hints of violets - this is the team for you - they remove the snobbery and make it inclusive and approachable. You will fall in love with wine all over again!

As a novice (but very enthusiastic) wine drinker, I was really looking forward to extending my knowledge of the different types of grape, as well as learning some tasting techniques. The day was wonderful - the choice of wine was fabulous and I found some delicious varieties which I thought I didn't like! I would recommend Wine Unearthed to anybody wanting to learn more about this vast subject. Hopefully I'll be booking with Adrian again!
