You can't go wrong in Malibu, at least not here. My family came in from out of town and wanted to go to Malibu. Reservations were easy. Service was quick and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a quick lunch here and while there was a crowd we were seated and served quickly. Let me start by sharing that everyone from the valet, to the reservation check in, the hostess, and other staff went above and beyond with service. Our server made excellent drink recommendations. The panoramic views were absolutely breathtaking. There were 4 of us and everything we ordered was perfection.

One of the most mentioned places in Malibu, and rightfully so—the view is absolutely breathtaking. The food is just fine, serving as an add-on to the main attraction, which is undoubtedly the stunning view. Ideal for celebrations, the combination of the picturesque scenery and decent food makes it a great option for a date night as well. Me and my friend, we stayed a bit longer and had the chance to witness the view transform from before sunset to after—it's an experience worth trying, especially if you, like me, love the beauty of a sunset!

Adequate-to-good seafood in a world class ambiance. Service was top notch. No dish in particular was life changing. The most memorable part of the night was the elegance of the dining room and the view. If you’re used to fresh new england lobster I’d recommend looking further. Not a 5/5 value but I still look forward to coming back.

My host at the door was amazing. She offered me 2 choices of tables to watch the sunset. I wish I got her name..service was great. Surf and turf was good but was missing just a little something. The cheese cake was amazing. Views of the ocean and sunset could not be any better. Price was on point with those views and service... if I ever get back to malibu I'll be going back to moonshadows.

We had plans to visit PCH and see Point Dume, so we made reservations to have lunch here along the way. We went on a very busy Sunday, not only was this place packed, but getting there from Marina Del Rey was slow-going in all the traffic on PCH too. Once there, we were greeted and seated with a smile and we chose to dine on the deck over-looking the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean just a few feet below. It was a true treat as the view was amazing, but hearing the waves was equally as appealing! The menu for brunch has all the basics for brunch, but also some nice items for lunch as well. We chose their Roasted Organic Red & Yellow Beet Salad with shrimp added and the Miso Glazed Black Cod and both were presented very nicely and tasted excellent! As a “man of color” I can tell you that the service was great during our visit, we weren’t rushed and refills of ice tea was frequent. Additionally, we were treated very nice, as we all the guest interactions we witnessed around us. Highly suggest making reservations and visiting when in the area!

The food and atmosphere are great at Moonshadows. We had tuna tartare, sweet lobster ceasar salad and half a dozen oysters. The Ceasar dressing was really light so we did require a bit extra but otherwise the food was excellent. The restaurant is located directly on the waterfront so we were able to enjoy the views and the patio heaters kept us comfortable. The service was quite disappointing though. Our server never came back to check on us and was barely around if we needed something. But other than that it was a great experience and I'll definitely return.
