Still have a bad taste in my mouth from the fries being cooked in old oil. The BLT was delicious, my husbands Monte Cristo was good, but was a little burned and he said he thinks old oil was used to cook it. The ice tea was good. The owner did special make fry sauce. I thought that was nice of her, and ad I thought she was making such an effort to provide a good meal, I told her I would base my review on the BLT, and not the fries, BUT - she didn't do nor offer to do anything to compensate for the bad fries. She even cheerfully told me that I was right about the fries being fried in old oil. She said it was three days past when she should have changed it! She had excuses, but I don't want to pay for her excuses! My husband had a piece of cake. It was okay, but not what I would expect from the type of restaurant she is representing. I thought she was going to comp the cake to make up for the fries, but no. It's not the money, but the indifference to having served something bad.

Editing my review after a poor first experience (due to the restaurant only being open for a short while) to a pretty good experience. Spoke to the owner Corinne and she explained the mold smell, and assured me the service and quality of food has improved.
We went in for Poetry and Pasta (a Wednesday night dinner special $10 per plate of pasta featuring local poet Ethan Bethune) and had a wonderful experience. The Farmer's Primavera Pasta was fantastic. Delighted to have a better experience!

My girlfriend and I listened to the word of a local shop owner and decided to go here; it was a mistake. The ventilation unit started dripping water on me almost as soon as we sat down, so we switch seats. They have no wine list, and then they forgot about our appetizers completely. Finally my girlfriend and I’s respective entree’s were not worth the money. The decor of the place and the atmosphere itself was a bit conflicted with what the restaurant seems to want to be. I will not go back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Overcooked and overpriced. 16 for a plate of steamed vegetables.
Edited to add the following. This review was posted on my account for my brother who has been vegan for the last decade and a healthy eater for his entire adult life. I felt I needed to add this after the owner of this establishment decided to respond to this review with somewhat childish taunts about where else I have eaten. FWIW, to the owner, he was being polite to your face but was thoroughly disappointed in what he got for the price. He shares that with me, we do not mind paying a premium for premium food. Also, if you spent nearly as much time improving your craft, as you do responding to negative reviews, you might stop getting them, you think maybe?

As musical guests we were booked to play from 9:30-12 and it seemed to be one fiasco after the other.
First, the start time was wrongly advertised leading to confusion to when we were suppose to start.
Second, an hour prior to the show one of our band member's girlfriends, who wasn't feeling well, passed out and fell, leaving her with a busted lip and other cuts. So quickly, said band member made the hour plus round trip home and back to the venue, leading us to take the stage at 9:45 and not 9:30. Knowing exactly what had just occurred and showing exactly zero compassion, the owner proceeded to openly curse at the rest of the band as they waited for their bandmate to return.
Yes, I get it. We went on stage 15 minutes late, but given the circumstances, one would think the owner would cut us a break. Especially since every single person in the bar came specifically to watch us and they all seemed to understand the situation and didn't mind waiting.
At that time the crowd was the largest it had ever been for any band/act at 33, probably still is, and they made way more money than they usually make on a single night. However the owner apparently was under the delusional belief that the crowd came for her venue and not the band. These people had never been there before and I guarantee 99% will never come back.
Third, they had one doorperson taking up money, yet two entrances. This wouldn't have been such a problem except for the fact that we, offering to help this new local establishment, waived our usual 'guaranteed payment' and opted for being paid by the money made from the door alone. We knew making that deal would cost us $150-200 compared to what we normally make per show, but we did it to support this new venue. So letting 20-25 people walk in the front door without paying cost us another $100. Since they were handing out bracelets to every paying patron, it was easy to spot who had payed and who had not. However, when we mentioned this fact, 33 was not concerned one bit. This was obvious as both entrances remained open and no attempt was made from anyone at 33 to check bracelets or make those who didn't pay pay the cover charge. It wasn't their money so it wasn't their concern.
Fourth, as a band we split our earnings equally among the three members, already making less than half of our normal payments and being screwed over by the lack of paying customers we then had to take what little money we did make and split it with an extra cut because we had to hire our own soundman. Since they had no sound equipment and made no attempt at renting/borrowing any equipment for us to use that night. So by the end of it, we practically made nothing for 2 1/2 hours of music, not counting all of the extra time we spent setting up for the show. All of this because we were trying to help this young unestablished venue.
Fifth, we had 2 more dates booked for 33, one in July and one in August, and even after all of these fiascos, we were still willing to play those date if the owner would simply apologize for openly cursing at the band in front of guests, however she has apparently refused as we never received said apology.
We have played all over the south and mostly play in larger cities but since 33 is located in Fort Payne and not too far from our hometown, we thought we would try to help them out, make a little money, and have a good time playing music for others. The only thing that happened that night was 33 made a lot of money. The owner was completely unprofessional with how she dealt with us and her venue wasn't prepared nor did it have correct procedures to run a show. No apologies, no appreciation, no compensation, we're never coming back.
It's sad when someone singing karaoke to an empty venue makes more money than the band that brings you a crowd. And the same goes for your employees. Working 8-10 hour shifts and going home with nothing, yet the hosts of these events 'work' 3 hours, drink for free, and makes 4x's what the server or even bartender makes.
Good luck, you're going to need it.

Absolutely fantastic food. The owner went above and beyond for me as I am at work and ordered over the phone. Thankyou so much for your hospitality, my coworkers and I can’t wait to eat at your establishment again!
