Strings Italian Cafe

Fantastic! Just as good as I remember. I used to go to the Strings in Elk Grove before it closed and it was one of my favorite restaurants. This easily lived up to the memory. Our waiter, Freddy, was very nice and was a great server despite being the only server working at the time. The wait wasn't any longer than you'd expect at any restaurant. The food was great. Both of the entrees that we got were very tasty and you can never deny their salad and bread. The best! I will be returning here for sure.

Boy has this place gone downhill. Went to the one in Carmichael. Got 3 small pieces of bread throughout the whole meal and it was cold. Table was sticky and the whole restaurant was dirty. Sat in a broken chair that pinched my finger when scooting up to the table. Meatballs were overcooked and the food was too salty. Used to go to the Madison Avenue store and it was excellent but that location closed. Don't waste your money. Cost 50 bucks for 2 and it should have been a lot better for the money.

This was disgusting and very disappointing! Over $17 of frozen gross food. Before I even left the parking lot I took the fried ravioli back. It was burnt and dry...gross. The lady stated that yes they were "crispy" and offered to make some "less crispy". I opted for the shrimp antipasta as a cheaper substitution from frozen fried ravioli. This was just as disgusting. I aso had the bruschetta which was a 3 out of 5. The lady took 74 cents off my bill. Not like the old Strings. Very disappointed. Will never go back. $17 in these times is a lot of money for burnt frozen food.

I've eaten here twice in the last year. The first time was take-out and the food was very bland. I thought I might try it again sitting in the restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice. Great decor. The service was great. But the food. . . oh the food is really bad. The sauce was bland and had no salt. The chicken was prepackaged breaded chicken and was burnt. My recommendation to the owners is to simplify your menu. The number of items on the menu immediately lets you know it is not freshly made. Make the food fresh. Make your own sauce. And most importantly taste what you're putting out on the table. Season your food. I'm not going back.
