Well Played

My husband and I went in on a Thursday afternoon to pass some time before dinner. It was the best time! We played a game we knew (Sequence) but asked for a recommendation for the next game. We absolutely loved learning to play Abalone! Great rec and awesome time playing it. We shared some hummus and a mac & cheese grilled cheese and they were both delicious! Great drink selection and super friendly staff. TONS of game choices!

We visited on a Saturday. We dropped by in the morning and also later that night. It was pretty quiet in the morning, so would be a great place to have some peace and quiet while having coffee and playing some games before hitting up other Asheville activities. The evening was busier, but not too crowded. There was plenty of space for people to play and folks of all ages, including families with kids. The staff was friendly and happy to answer questions and there are plenty of options for snacks, drinks, and desserts. The game selection is plentiful, including a lot of two player or family friendly game, along with some heavier ones for casual gamers to try out.

Full points! Chill and cozy with an impressively large and diverse set of games. The staff are friendly, seating options are ample, and the fixed price of the day pass is great value. Well Played would benefit from adding a few healthier options to their menu, but I enjoyed the croissant I bought at 7pm - still fresh and flakey. Overall a solid place to hang and learn some new games

Not ashamed to say it… Probably the best time I had in Asheville! My wife is pregnant, so wasn’t able to drink and it’s tough to find things at night that don’t include alcohol, and you can only eat so much. This place was so fun! They had all the games from my childhood and a ton of new games that I didn’t even know existed. Mike, who seem to be the game master when we checked in, made some great suggestions for new games to try and walked us through how to play them! I can’t imagine that he spends that much time with most people, but he made us feel very much at home Explaining how the whole place worked. You can enjoy a nice local craft beer or a delicious craft latte with desserts and snacks. Noah was our server, but also seemed like he did a lot more at the place. He not only helped us with our food and helped us pick out other games, but also gave us some awesome suggestions for activities around town and was very hospitable. He introduced us to the Cook and again… Made us feel right at home. He even stopped what he was doing to take some photos of us in front of the main sign. I wish Orlando had a spot like this! Cannot give a higher recommendation.
