What a wonderful barbacoa sandwich, and the kids loved the sparkler on top, too. Some of the best food we've all had in York so far, really loved it!

Went here for the vegan shawarma wrap, it was lovely. So much filling, but a little pricy for the size. This is to be expected in York.

Honestly one of the best sandwiches/street food I've ever had! Went for the Guy Fawkes; so much flavour! Service was quick too even during a busy lunchtime

This is the second time eating at the shambles kitchen and it's been fantastic both times.
I've tried the trufflepuff and the Judy Hench and both are good, but the Judy Hench is my favourite so far. My partner has had the vegan shawarma twice and loves it.
Very quick to order and receive your food, you get a little buzzer that goes off when your order is ready and have only waited 5/10 mins both times.
We are from Kent and will stop here on the way up again for sure! Helps that York is a beautiful place 😁

I always stop here for lunch when I'm in York. The pulled pork sandwich is outstanding and the service is great. There's tables behind the restaurant in Shambles market where I can usually find seats.

This place is fantastic, I absolutely love it. Sandwiches are quite pricey but you get what you pay for. They are so delicious and having things like a sparkling stick in the guy Fawkes sandwich just makes it memorable. Would highly recommend

This place had me yearning for their sandwiches from the moment I passed,
You can smell here from a street over ,
Every time, I'd have either eaten, had plans, or a queue as long as the ghost merchants
I got the Dame Judy Hench,
Had a lovely chat with the woman working there and was given a sandwich that looked like the picture
Needs no guesses to say it was absolutely devoured, and I'm now planning a trip back to york just to try the rest of the selection

If I could, I would give 10 starts. Smelt the food as I walked past and just had to get something. Ended up getting the Harry trotter. Whitch is pulled pork. Card only, which is not a problem. But it's super amazing food. They put a sparkler on top with is a nice touch
