John's Cafe

Group of four went to John’s Cafe for dinner. Busy night in the restaurant. My entry of roasted chicken was tough, hard to cut with my knife and tasteless. My wife’s meal was also bland and the pork on her plate was like shoe leather. Quite an expensive evening with subpar food. Won’t go back. Felt bad since we were celebrating two birthdays in our group. We had heard that the food was good at Johns. What happened?!

Only our 2nd time going but I've had Dennis' cooking a handful of times. No BS, I've liked everything he's made. This time I got the Center Cut Pork Chop and I swear it was the best I've ever had. It came with homemade applesauce and veggies. My wife got the burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also got the homemade Ricotta + Garlic Bread for app and it was really good. I'm not a huge dairy person anymore but this was light and had a very creamy flavor/texture. Lastly we decided to get dessert. I got the plate of cookies, since I'm playing Santa in a few days I had to practice, and my wife got the Chocolate Souffle cake with Pistachio ice cream. The cookies are homemade and have an italian pastry flavor vs a gooey style. I loved them. The cake was really good, especially if you like dark chocolate. Oh, I guess I should mention the drinks. The water was fantastic (I don't drink) and my wife enjoyed her holiday mule. Overall we can't wait to go back and highly recommend!

We stopped by for lunch, got calamari, a burger and Sunday sauce with meatballs. Everything was delicious from the first bite to the last. I took a bite of the burger and it was juicy. I just warmed up my leftover meatballs and sauce for lunch 😋 yummm. I try meatballs every where I go and these are hands down the best homemade meatballs, you can tell they put a lot of care into their food.

Outstanding food, great service and wonderful atmosphere ! We brought our favorite bottle of wine and had a great meal from start to finish! The hanger steak had a great char and was cooked perfectly! The salad was fresh and well balanced with the Gorgonzola and apple with lemon vinaigrette. The deserts were perfect, key lime pie and olive oil coffee cake! Thank you Dennis for a fantastic meal!
