Roma Restaurant

PRINT. THAT. COUPON. After years of enjoying Roma, I recently was shown what really poor customer service looks like. While calling in my takeout order, I asked if they'd accept the 40% off coupon they have posted on Roma's website (also on Valpak and other sites), and was told "absolutely, I'll have your total ready when you get here." From that conversation, I thought all was well and good, and sent my son off, in winter-driving conditions, to pick up our pizza. Of course, when he got there, they refused to honor the coupon without an actual printed copy in hand (showing them your phone will not suffice). While pleading my case with the manager, I was explained that this has been their policy since 1988, and that if they bent this rule for me, they would have to do it for all customers, possibly leading to some kind of pizza discount anarchy. I'm not sure what I'm more blown-away by: A) That Roma is strictly clinging to, and enforcing a 30+ year old policy, that precedes the advent of the mobile phone, digital coupons, and the slow death of the personal printer...and all during a pandemic, when most businesses are going "touchless", not accepting cash, checks or other forms of paper. They are LITERALLY the only pizza place in Windsor that DOES NOT accept digital coupons (you can load others' coupons via Valpak to GooglePay, and/or simply show them your phone, or a code). B) That the Manager wouldn't simply make an exception, given the conversation I had with the order-taker (who knew I wanted to use the offer and said nothing of the coupon policy), and that it was my birthday (which I explained). If he had, I would likely be writing a much different review about the fantastic customer service at Roma Windsor. He instead stuck to his guns, and didn't budge an inch, all for about $7. So Beware -- if you want to take advantage of Roma's marketing/discount offers, I urge you to first swing by your local library, a FedEx/Kinko's, or your parents' house to find a printer, kill a tree, and make sure you physically hand them a piece of paper with said offer on it. Leave your phone in your car as it will be useless to you in this situation... these guys kick it old school. Or, like me, take your business to places that have adjusted with the times, and treat customers with empathy and kindness. As I'm not aware of a printed edition of Google Reviews, could someone be so kind as to print and staple this review to your coupon next time you visit Roma Windsor, as I want to make sure it gets to the right people. Thanks!

A while back I dined here and gave you a 2 star review for bad food and horrible service. Reluctantly, I came back and was pleasantly shocked! Your service was fantastic, the food was better, and the price was once again reasonable. Personally, I just don't like your sauce, but I'm willing to try ranch next time. I would recommend their caroli's. (Especially the taco one)
