The food is phenomenal every time I go! The service is also amazing. The variety of sushi makes us so happy. And I can never say no to the orange chicken. It’s perfectly crispy and not overly sweet. The sweet tea is even good. The atmosphere is very nice too. They have a more formal dining area as well if you have a larger party or want to do something nice there.

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. It has a great lunch menu and dinner menu. Also they have a buffet during the week that has a good variety. For the buffet you order off of a menu and they bring it to you. It can take some time for them to prepare the food. Would highly recommend this place.

Ichiban wants to be a Japanese restaurant, I think, but they do too good a job on Chinese food—and the entire Peninsula has been suffering for good Chinese food since Steve Hsieh died and the Ming Gate in Hampton shut down a-many years ago now. So I have I think always ordered Chinese food at Ichiban—and usually Peking Duck, although today the price is through the roof at $49.00, AND apparently now you have to make an ADVANCE RESERVATION if you want to order it. Which I found out Monday night, January 10, 2022, when Sheila and I arrived hungry and cold and grateful to find a good restaurant open on a Monday night. Also on the menu BUT NOT REQUIRING AN ADVANCE RESERVATION is Ichiban’s House Special Crispy Duck with Chinese Vegetables, with sides of fried rice and wonton soup. So I ordered that, and Sheila ordered Moo Shu Chicken, which was accompanied only by the traditional pancakes. All the food was very good, and it was comforting on a cold night to be dining once more at Ichiban, which has always proved dependable, and occasionally inspired. I sense they are painfully understaffed during the plague, but the waiter raced around most energetically, refilling our cups of very good green tea twice during the course of the evening. I only noticed my deep-fried Crispy Duck chunks were warm rather than hot when served, but Sheila’s Moo Shu Chicken was quite hot, so that was all right! Both dishes were quite generous in size, but I was very hungry and ate everything on my plate. Sheila was satisfied to take half of her food home for later. Mention was made by another reviewer of the “old-fashioned” interior, so I did take one photograph to give you an idea of the present dining area layout. Ichiban is scrupulously clean and all the staff wear their masks as if they were well aware of the value of keeping themselves and their customers healthy. A nice place to visit!

So we got take out from here tonight. Oh my the crispy duck was on point. And then there was the Ichiban roll now that took the cake. The chicken and broccoli, well let’s say I have not had any this well prepared in a while. In case you are guessing the salad on the side was great with it’s on special dressing. Check them out

Ichiban has an "All you can eat" hour(s) M-F from 11:30-2:30pm for less than $14 at the time of this review. However, you MUST get there as soon as it opens or else you will be waiting a long time for your sushi. The sushi chefs make them as you order so the sushi isn't sitting there waiting for you to select them like a sushi train. You can also order "kitchen dishes" like lo mein, rock shrimp, wonton soup, etc.. that is included in the $14. If you want to satisfy your belly with fresh delicious sushi and not have to pay an extravagant amount of money, then this is the place for you!

Terrible, just terrible! I ordered delivery to pay cash upon delivery. The delivery man conveniently had NO change. That would have been fine if he hadn't been a complete jerk. Nice little scam to force an undeserved tip. The goyza sauce was like water. And they were a little overcooked. The sesame chicken was really tender but had very little flavor. When I called to let the business know, they did apologize but kept asking me what i wanted from them. I'm telling you, this man was horrid. The WORSE experience I've EVER had and I travel a LOT. Wasted money, wasted time...NEVER EVER AGAIN! Do yourself a favor and order from one of the other chinese restaurants in town. I will.

Last time I visited the place, I really enjoyed it, but I think tonight was an off night. I ordered a shrimp tempura with white rice. When I opened my box after going home, there was nothing but confusion. I never got my white rice. Instead, I got a clear container with some transparent brown liquid inside..I have no clue what it was..I had a big chunk of fried broccoli (It was actually pretty good), a flattened, fried circle. I couldn't identify what it was until I tasted it..it was a tomato. There was what appeared to be onion rings until I tried it. It was not an onion, but some sort of vegetable that I couldn't identify. Maybe squash..The tempura shrimp had a great crisp to it, but very bland. None of the items were seasoned at all. It was very busy, so I assume they didn't have the time to put into it. It still could've been better.

Arrived at 1:15 to do the all-you-can-eat lunch…waited 45 minutes to be seated. The waiter we had kept going to the already seated tables before coming over to us and when we told him we came to do the buffet he pulled out his watch to inform us we only had 20 minutes left. I mentioned how this was our first time and we had asked the host if we would have to leave for the 2:30pm closing and were told not to rush. Waiter than said “you can order everything you would have wanted before 2:30 and it would work.” Not eating here before how would I know if I wanted more of one item or not. We waited so long to be seated to be ignored and lose “minutes.” We called from the parking lot to speak with a manager and all we were told was “it was their policy, sorry.” Just awful customer service
