If you’re anywhere near Glacier Park you have to make a trip to Polebridge. This place is gorgeous , and it’s Mercantile Shop made a name for itself with the sales of huckleberry bear claws. A freshly made huckleberry bear claw is super delicious and a great camp breakfast starter. So, so good. The road to get there is a dirt road and you will encounter holes if not graded. As an old expression, it's in the boonies, but, you have to do this experience if you haven't heard of huckleberries. Those who do know, know how good these bear claws really are. A worthwhile stop when you're on the way to Lake Bowman as this is the only place to fill up on food, gas and souvenirs! Sandwiches are huge and filling and there's a good selection of MT souvenirs. This place has been here for over 100 years in essentially a remote area so kudos to them for successfully maintaining a business for so long and providing essential services to all visitors!

Super good. Super expensive. Possibly the yummiest bakery I’ve ever encountered. We bought: 8 bear claws (probably the best I’ve ever had. ) 1 fritter 1 lemon huckleberry bar 1 loaf monkey pull apart loaf 1 huckleberry loaf Total $85. They didn’t have prices listed. I was surprised at the total. The food was delicious. If we were to go back, I think I’d take the lemon huckleberry bar over the bear claw. And I would buy the monkey pull apart bread again.

Polebridge was a must do on our Montana trip. I heard about it in a song by Owl City and it looked interesting in photos, so we made the drive. It’s totally worth it. This is a little shop with souvenirs, a bakery and other types of food. No cell phone service and it’s near Canada! There are a couple big dogs that greet you and they are sweet. The staff here is friendly. The views are nice as well. If you’re thinking about making the drive from Whitefish or Glacier, just do it. Don’t forget to buy a delicious bear claw.

It's a bit of a drive to get to, but it totally worth it for the bakes goods - try the huckleberry bear claws. There is a nice picnic area and a place for the kids to stretch their legs after the drive. There are some souvenirs (t-shirts, cozies, books) in the mercantile for purchase.

This place has a fun, quirky atmosphere! It's a place that has something for everyone. Plus, without cell service up there, you can actually pay attention to your surroundings! I 10 out of 10 recommend the jalapeño rolls or the ricotta poppy seed rolls.❤️

Great place at the end of the road. Many of the buildings are authentic and very old with a history to go along with the great food. No gas station so get gas beforehand or enjoy your walk through prime grizzly habitat. The staff is very friendly and ready to answer any question you may have. Small playground with climbing bars in the shape of an old steam locomotive. 16 miles from the Canadian border but the checkpoint is closed. There is a mercantile with outdoor seating to buy hot food and sit before starting your next journey. A gift shop as well. Friendly loveable dog roams the property ready to greet the next vehicle in exchange for a scratch behind the ear.

There are few places one goes to that truly stays with them, and this is one of those places. Remote, sunshine friendly people (often young), excellent--and I mean excellent--baked goods*, a cappuccino like you might find only in a big city environment, good coffee, camping supplies, touristy things, and history of the early days on the walls. I've been places the (mostly young) employees acted like they were doing you a favor by being there, but these people clearly are glad to be there and pass their good cheer onto the customer. Glacier NP is one of the truly premier national parks in America, and places like Polebridge only make it more special. *The Huckleberry Bear Claw, or the Cinnamon Roll...no!, the Walnut Cinnamon thingie, or the cookies, or the...you'll just have to go to find out for yourself.

Amazing little place. Everyone says to get their bear claws, but the turnovers are so much better. They do have credit card machines and public bathrooms outside during business hours. Also was told you can get their bakery goods at local weekend markets.
