Star Diner

Great little diner in a blink-and you'll -miss-it spot along a busy road. All the usual staples from a typical diner are present along with some more non-standard fare like buffalo Mac and cheese. Burger was way better than any diner burger has any business being! There was also a small salad bar which is rare anymore and nice to have as an option.

I ordered the Short Stack (2) of pancakes and a side of bacon. The pancakes were the size of a dessert plate...very light and fluffy. Bacon was cooked perfectly. The scrambled eggs, toast, coffee and cranberry juice were all good! The best part of our breakfast was our waitress, Gina. She was so kind and very helpful giving us directions. Also, received a 10% Senior discount. The best. If you read this Gina, THANK YOU!!

Did take-out for two fish dinners. Ordered online with a 30 min pickup. They were super busy for a Friday night, and the wait staff was hustling. Give them five stars for effort. I think the kitchen was filling the sit-down orders and pushed takeouts aside. I waited another 40 min once I got there to pick up. We also did not get our coleslaw, but too far to go back for it. It won't deter me from ordering again, but it won't be during rush time.

We both ate specials. I had one that included pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs. My husband had a heartier meal with potatoes, three eggs, sausage, bacon and toast. We had great coffee. The service was excellent. There were two servers who helped make sure each custom had what was needed even though they weren’t the waitress for that table. They smiled! The food was well cooked and the price was a great value for what we got. I couldn’t eat my food. The bathrooms and booths were clean. (A worker at a nearby conservation park recommended this place. She was right. We are traveling from OHio. We towed a camper and parked easily.
