Where to start... First the casual atmosphere & team are welcoming. Whether it's your first visit or you frequent diner Joe & his team will make suggestions, plus tell you about the daily specials. They charge regularly & this requires many visits to sample. Signature Coleslaw, Ruben Potato Salad (my favorite), Fresh Fries sprinkled with this amazing magic dust, & so many more! Daily specials from wraps to burgers to stuffed baked potato. There is definitely something for everyone on this menu. For first timers I personally recommend the Meat Daddy a sample of all the meats ribs, brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, & sausage plus 2 side & drink are a excellent value at $23.99. This place is a must eat! Also an assortment of specialty BBQ Sauce, Milkshakes, Pie, Smoke Chocolate Chip Cookie, & the amazing Pie Shake, Yes is as good as it sounds. Eat in, take out, or have it delivered you will not be disappointed.

WOW! What an excellent dinner my wife and I had, I finally decided to get the half rack of ribs and OMG they were the best ribs I had since the old Walt's Hitching Post, my new favorite! The wife's PBLT Pimento Bacon Lettuce and Tomato was excellent also. The different side dishes that Chef Tony can come up with are a treat each time we come. Looking forward to our next visit.

What's not to love about this place? Delicious meats, all the sides, and a surprising variety of desserts and shakes. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a more creative menu. Chef Joe is clearly passionate about what he does and is a super nice dude. I strongly recommend following the Facebook Page to see pics of his wild concoctions for daily specials. It kills me that I don't live closer so that I can catch things like his Beef Stroganoff Burger, Wrappers Delight, and the Ball Buster. While there, the place was busy with plenty eating in and grabbing to-go orders (including Uber Eats). Sugarfire is exactly the kind of place that will end up on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, and it's only a matter of time before this place gets so busy that it has to expand. I can't wait to impress my friends with this place next time I'm up North.

Brisket is AMAZING. We were really happy with the quality and taste of the food, especially, the meats. Brisket was our favorite. I love how they cut the brisket here. While waiting in line to order, the meat carver offered is an end of the brisket he was slicing to sample. The mac & cheese, fries, and BBQ sauces were OK. They do not serve the sauces warm out on the counter. They have their own soft drinks which is fun. The pickles they offer on their condiment counter are the good kind. Employees were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. I love that they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We'll definitely go back to enjoy!

Absolutely, utterly, wholly amazing.
I got The Meat Daddy (a sampler of 4-bone rib, jalapeño cheddar sausage link, 4 oz brisket, 4 oz pulled pork, 4 oz turkey, 2 sides, and a fountain drink) and a Pie Shake to top it off. Everything was simply delicious.
MEATS: The turkey and pulled pork were my favorites. So tender, so savory, so moist, neither could have been better (plus, both were lean meats if you need a lighter selection). For my first time trying brisket, I enjoyed it, too; it was perfectly cooked as well, and I cannot wait to try it piled on one of their sandwiches. The ribs were smoked tender but in a firm sort of way (in my opinion, the ideal balance). The sausage link, with melted cheese oozing out, had a great amount of jalapeño spiciness and taste; enough to get a kick but not overpowering, and by far the best jalapeño cheddar sausage I've had.
SIDES: A special for the day, the turkey-bacon-ranch pasta was creamy and refreshing and ranked my favorite. The baked beans admittedly lacked a substantial flavor but the texture was spot-on.
SAUCES: I do not know what sauces I had (I asked for a variety, so next time I'll be sure to ask which is which). Each has its own distinct flavor, so try them all!
DESSERT: A slice of pie or a shake is a must. Better yet, get the best of both worlds with an inimitable Pie Shake. The Mississippi Mud Pie Shake is amazing; it's a dense, fudgy chocolate filling (similar to a moist brownie) with what tasted like a graham cracker crust. They put an entire slice of pie in the shake!
When I was getting takeout, the entire experience (from ordering to pick up to eating and savoring) was perfect. The lady on the phone was a complete joy to talk to, and she gave her full honest opinion when recommending what I should get. They are family-operated by the friendliest, most welcoming and helpful people. The Union location recently reopened for dine-in, but regardless of if you takeout or dine-in, you'll be supporting a local family during such unpredictable times.

Sugarfire is a wonderful restaurant. The staff was extremely helpful in picking out great food (The big muddy) and a great side (loaded baked potato salad). I am extremely excited to go back and try out some other food. I was also told to keep an eye on they Facebook and Instagram page for their daily specials, like burnt ends.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good BBQ experience in Northern Kentucky.

Just enjoyed a pulled pork sandwhich and jalapeno slaw at Surefire. The pulled pork was probably the best I've had. Great flavor! But, this was my first BBQ since the covid-19 shut down so maybe that had something to do with how great it tasted, but I don't think so, it was just real good. I tried 2 bbq sauces, Texas Hot and Honey Badger. They were both good but the Honey Badger was a little "ketchupy" and although good in flavor the Texas Hot was not very spicey. But the meat was so good I didn't really use much sauce anyway. The jalapeno slaw has fresh jalapenos in it with a vinegar dressing. It was fairly light so there was a lot of cabbage flavor and not so much dressing flavor. I washed it down with a sweet tea that was very good. I would definitely eat here again.

We have been here 3 times since they opened and think it's pretty good. We go when the special for the day involves goetta! The goetta sandwiches have all been good as well as the Big Muddy. My husband got brisket once and he had a few pieces of fat in the sandwich, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Staff is all friendly and always cleaning.
