Red Lobster

This was my first time at Red Lobster and sadly it will be my last. The experience left a lot to be desired. Despite the negative reviews my friends and I took a chance and decided to eat here. There were a list of things that went wrong. Even though the restaurant was relatively empty the waitress took about 20 minutes before she came to our table and took our orders. The selling point of the restaurant is or was the biscuits. When brought to our table the biscuits were cold and dry, which was a little disappointing as that was my friends selling point in getting me to go. The second of biscuits was better, it was hot and moist. I ordered the ‘Ultimate Feast’ which includes lobster, crab and shrimp along with two sides: broccoli and fully loaded baked potato. The food took about an hour to reach our table. With the exception of the baked potato everything was cold. Despite the temperature my lobster was cooked well, however, my friends’ was overcooked and tough and her broccoli was undercooked and hard. Also, despite the restaurant only having a few patrons the waitress rarely came to the table to ask if we needed anything or to remove the dirty dishes. My friend asked for more butter and the waitress brought out a heap of unmelted butter and not the sweet cream butter one normally eats with seafood. More importantly, my surprise birthday was ruined.

Always wanted to try this place. It’s the place to be for seafood. Service was fast, food was awesome, menu was expansive and dishes were priced well. Atmosphere was what I would expect at a casual dining restaurant (has a pub and caters to families). Even enjoyed the music and contemporary decor. Would come again!

Three stars is generous for this place, just has a run down feel to it and pretty dark inside for a sunny day. Went on a Sunday and it was very busy, wait time for a table for two was 55 minutes so we sat at the bar instead. Food was okay and the sangria was disgusting. Would not recommend it at all, it had a strong sweet berry juice flavor to it. It was way to concentrated and syrupy for me, no where near what sangria should be. Seems they are short staffed so the bar tenders were also working as servers.

Terrible customer service from a manager. I made a curbside order. Upon arrival, I called to see if my order was ready, considering I arrived past my scheduled arrival time and I didn’t receive an email stating that my order was ready. I spoke with a manager(I don’t want to name drop but he had an African or Jamaican accent). I asked if he could check to see if my order was ready and he refused. Said if my food was ready I would’ve received an email. My husband went in to check and there was my food, cold and sitting there. I called back to let him know that I didn’t get the email just to be met with a bad attitude. I was polite to him. More polite than he deserved and he was rude. He asked what I want from him. I had to explain to him that I work in customer service and he could’ve handled that better. As expensive as things are today, it’s a shame that red lobster has such poor service, especially from a manager. That man needs some training.
